"Oh my, you child."
"Dad was wrong..."
Opening his mouth gently, he rubbed his son's head.
"You've grown a lot during this time, but the turtle move is still not natural enough."
Hearing this, Zhang Deshuai no longer felt wronged. Recalling his father's flowing, effortless performance at the steamed bun shop, he asked in an extremely pious tone,
"Dad, how can I become as silky-smooth as you?"
Opening his mouth, he sneered, assuming an air of profound wisdom, and said,
"Making a fool of yourself isn't just about losing face; the profound mystery within it is immense."
A trace of fanaticism flashed in his eyes as he spoke with animated gestures:
"You must design the process of making a fool of yourself in advance, and you must learn to improvise. You must build up your psychological defenses, and you must also learn to completely shatter those psychological defenses at the very moment you make a fool of yourself.
You must be clumsy, yet shrewd; do not make a grand and booming spectacle of it, but ensure the details are as silent and moisturizing as spring rain!"
"Wow..."
Zhang Deshuai was so shocked by his father's remarks that he was left speechless. He never expected that his father could interpret the simple act of "making a fool of yourself" with such thoroughness.
An old master of his craft—truly terrifying to this degree.
Opening his mouth, he patted Zhang Deshuai's shoulder. "Young man, the path you have to walk is still very long."
"So what on earth did you come back for?" Zhang Deshuai asked in turn.
"Well... originally I wanted to make a dashing entrance the exact moment you paid off that five million, but I didn't expect you to clear it this very morning."
A warm current surged in Zhang Deshuai's heart. It turned out his father had been watching over him all along.
"You should be quite proficient in the Midas Touch by now. Take these two scrolls."
Opening his mouth, he mysteriously pulled two classic yellow-covered books from his bosom and handed them to Zhang Deshuai.
"A new cultivation technique..."
Zhang Deshuai's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately took them.
On the covers of the two filthy books were those same large golden characters:
*(Dusk Secret Scripture - Strength)* *(Dusk Secret Scripture - Resilience)*
"Strength and resilience?" Zhang Deshuai muttered under his breath.
"Correct. Strength represents physical might, and resilience represents tenacity. These two scrolls are rather special, both exclusive to those with the Dusk Bloodline.
The Strength scroll requires the bearer of the Dusk Bloodline to condense the vital energy within their body in order to cultivate physical power.
The Resilience scroll requires dispersing the vital energy within the body to strengthen muscles and forge bones.
Though it sounds rustic, if cultivated to perfection, they can not only transform into one another, but also achieve a powerful explosive effect in a short period of time.
There is an elder in our sect who specializes in the Strength scroll; he can shatter an entire mountain peak with a single punch!

The techniques for condensation and dispersion are on the final pages of these two scrolls. These two volumes are the foundation-building methods of our sect. You must practice the art of making a fool of yourself day and night until you can deploy and retract it at will."
"A punch... to shatter a mountain peak?" Hearing his father's words, Zhang Deshuai stood frozen in a daze.
If the Midas Touch still fell within the realm of the real world, these two cultivation manuals had already surpassed his comprehension of reality.
Watching his son's pathetic appearance, Opening his mouth delivered a heavy smack to the back of his head.
"The world outside is vast, far bigger than you can imagine.
By the way, you're going to pay off your final debt today, aren't you?"
Zhang Deshuai nodded blankly.
"That girl Wang Shuhan is the daughter of an old friend of mine, and I asked her to help test you. She can be trusted."
He hesitated for a moment, then added,
"For now."
"Wang Shuhan, Wang Shuhan... a... a woman?" Zhang Deshuai's jaw dropped as he said in disbelief.
"No, have you ever seen a man look like that?"
"Dad, you're falling behind the times."
"......"
Opening his mouth, he cleared his throat and continued,
"I haven't finished dealing with the sect's affairs yet. I've already arranged the subsequent matters with Wang Shuhan. I'll be leaving first; wait for her at the usual spot tonight, and she will tell you everything."
"Dad..." Zhang Deshuai reached out to grab his father, wanting to say more, but he only felt his vision go dark and instantly lost consciousness.
Opening his mouth withdrew the long blade from the back of his son's neck, then hoisted him onto his shoulder. With a single thought, father and son vanished and returned directly home.
Opening his mouth placed Zhang Deshuai onto the bed, then affectionately stroked his head.
"Son, keep it up. Dad doesn't expect you to become some great, powerful person; Dad just...
wants you to live a good life."
Yet, is this Dusk Bloodline a blessing, or a curse?
Opening his mouth sighed, cast one last reluctant glance at his son, and then vanished.
As if he had never appeared at all.
Dusk descended, day and night interchanged.
Zhang Deshuai woke up in a haze, his neck still faintly throbbing.
"Why did she have to hit the exact same spot as that Wang Shuhan..."
He swore he would never try to make someone stay again when they were determined to leave.
He simply washed his face, changed his clothes, and stepped out the door.
Just as he reached downstairs, he spotted Wang Shuhan dressed entirely in black.

Oh no, Wang Shuhan.
Wang Shuhan had no idea her female identity had been exposed. With a cold face, she deliberately lowered her voice and asked,
"The money, did you bring it?"
Looking at the young girl in front of him trying so hard to put on a stern facade, Zhang Deshuai only found her adorable.
"No money."
Wang Shuhan was somewhat surprised, but she quickly suppressed her emotions and continued to ask in a low voice,
"Why didn't you bring it?"
"I have no money, but you can take my life if you want."
Zhang Deshuai put his hands behind his back with the air of an old sage, looking like a dead pig that wasn't afraid of boiling water.
Now it was Wang Shuhan's turn to panic. She didn't understand why the usually timid Zhang Deshuai was acting this way today, but the act had to be played out to the end.
She drew her butterfly knife, spun it around in her hand, and stepped closer to Zhang Deshuai step by step.
"If you dare hit me, I'll run straight into the men's restroom," Zhang Deshuai said with a cheap grin.
Wang Shuhan instantly turned to stone on the spot, the butterfly knife in her hand dropping pitifully to the ground.
"You... how did you figure it out?"
Xiao Yifei walked up to her with a wicked grin, wearing the smile of a villain who had achieved his petty success.
"Miss Wang, you wouldn't want your father to find out about this, would you?"
"You... what do you want?" Having her female identity exposed, Wang Shuhan instantly lost her previous coldness and sharp aura, asking with a stammer.
"Let's go. Take me to see them."
"What?"
"To see your father and master. Isn't this what you were supposed to do anyway? Let's go."
Zhang Deshuai put away his flippant expression and looked at her earnestly.
Wang Shuhan, however, began to fidget coyly. A blush spread across her face as she twisted her little feet back and forth.
"Wait... wait a moment."
Seeing Zhang Deshuai turn to leave, Wang Shuhan hurriedly called out to him.
"What is it?" Zhang Deshuai felt a bit annoyed; he hadn't expected this young girl to become so troublesome at a crucial moment.
"Well... once we see my father and master, can you please not tell them you figured out I'm a girl? Otherwise, I'm going to get scolded."
Wang Shuhan's face was completely red. The fidgeting feet paired with her black leather jacket and exquisite little leather shoes made her look exceptionally dainty and charming.
"So... so much gap Moe, I love it."
