"Transaction successful, thank you for your purchase!"

Qin Changsheng watched the points on his interface instantly drop from 100 to 84, meaning that single sentence had just cost him 160,000 points.

Feeling the shocked gazes of everyone around him, Qin Changsheng felt that those 160,000 points were well spent.

Since the money was already spent, Qin Changsheng tried to act as nonchalant and cool as possible as he asked another question, "Where is the house I bought located? Why don't you take me to see it?"

The bespectacled man behind the desk did not answer immediately. Instead, he pulled a card out from under the desk, stood up, bowed, and respectfully handed it to Qin Changsheng.

"This is the identity card that will grant you access to the Chosen District," the bespectacled man said deferentially. "The Residence of Hope you just purchased is located inside the Chosen District. If you wish, I can accompany you to take a look right now."

"An identity card for the Chosen District?" Qin Changsheng was taken aback. He hadn't expected an unexpected bonus just from buying a house.

The Chosen District, which had consistently denied him entry previously, could apparently be entered simply by purchasing a house there. Why did that sound so much like a scam?

He took the card from the bespectacled man's hand. The card was pitch black, with the four large characters "Heaven, Earth, Mystery, and Yellow" printed on it in hot-stamped gold font.

The bespectacled man walked out from behind the desk all the way to the shop entrance, made an inviting gesture toward the outside, and motioned for Qin Changsheng to follow him.

Qin Changsheng looked at Cao Mengmeng and the others beside him, then asked again, "Can my friends enter the Chosen District with me when the time comes?"

"Of course they can," the bespectacled man nodded. "As long as you hold an identity card for the Chosen District, you can freely bring people in and out without any restrictions whatsoever."

"That's good." Qin Changsheng breathed a sigh of relief, turned around, and waved at the others. "Come on, let's go check out our new home!"

Cao Mengmeng and the two others looked at each other, clapped their hands, and immediately followed along.

Who would be foolish enough not to live in a free house?

Just as the group was about to set off, the young man standing off to the side suddenly shouted, "Wait."

Qin Changsheng stopped his already-striding foot, turned back to look at the man who had helped him quite a bit, and asked with a puzzled expression, "What is it? Is there something else?"

"I'm going with you," the young man said bluntly.

Qin Changsheng froze for a moment, failing to understand what the young man meant by that.

Seeing that Qin Changsheng didn't get it, the young man made himself clearer: "I am going to live with you."

"Huh?" Qin Changsheng understood this time, but he was even more bewildered.

It wasn't that Qin Changsheng was unwilling, but rather that he knew practically nothing about this man.

As someone with social anxiety, he simply couldn't fathom how anyone could actively propose living with a complete stranger they had known for less than half an hour, let alone demand to live under their roof.

To put it bluntly, the young man's request was somewhat shameless. This house was bought with 160,000 points paid by Qin Changsheng; even if the young man had given him a little help, it wasn't worth nearly that much, was it?

The young man seemed to have anticipated Qin Changsheng's hesitation and immediately added, "I saved your life. You owe me."

"You saved me?" That sounded even more absurd. "Please, brother, I've never even seen you before!"

"You haven't seen me, indeed," the man nodded. "But I've seen you."

He had said those exact words before, and just like before, Qin Changsheng still didn't understand the riddle.

He grew somewhat impatient. "Can you stop talking like you're speaking in riddles? Where on earth did you see me, and what do you mean by saving my life?"

Qin Changsheng's tone wasn't very polite, though he could hardly be blamed for his irritation.

If the young man had spoken in a friendly and polite manner, he might have been able to accept it. But the man came right out of the gate with "You owe me," which thoroughly provoked Qin Changsheng's rebellious streak.

Not only him, but even Cao Mengmeng beside him began to grow wary of the man. She carefully pinched the back of Qin Changsheng's shirt and whispered, "Be careful, I think this guy is a bit suspicious. He might be..."

"He might be the Beika Hero in the flesh!"

Cao Mengmeng's words woke him up like a bolt from the blue, instantly making Qin Changsheng understand the whisper.

That was entirely possible!

The Beika Hero wore a full-head mask throughout the game and never spoke. Who knew what the Beika Hero actually looked like or what kind of person he was?

Moreover, in the Heaven-tier group's game, aside from Cao Mengmeng and the others around him, the only other person who had seen Qin Changsheng and was still alive was the Beika Hero.

This guy claimed he had seen Qin Changsheng, yet Qin Changsheng didn't know him at all. Who else could he be if not the Beika Hero?

Still, they couldn't be too certain; it wouldn't be right to wrongly accuse someone either.

Qin Changsheng and Cao Mengmeng exchanged glances, both sharing a mutual understanding as they cast scrutinizing gazes back at the young man standing before them.

"What do you think?" Qin Changsheng whispered.

"Hard to say," Cao Mengmeng lowered her voice to reply. "He looks pretty handsome, doesn't look like a bad guy."

"Good looks don't mean anything. Don't a lot of serial killers in TV shows look quite handsome?"

"Makes sense, let's observe a little longer!"

The young man standing before them felt veins popping on his forehead and couldn't help saying, "You do know I can hear everything you're saying, right?"

"If you can hear us, then stop playing dumb." Qin Changsheng crossed his arms over his chest and cut straight to the point. "Who the hell are you anyway?"

The young man let out a slight sigh. "First of all, I am not the Beika Hero."

"How can you prove that?" Cao Mengmeng pressed.

"With this." The man raised his slender fingers, crossed them, and flicked them twice gently. "Forget-sorrow, Nightless Monkey."

Along with his calm words, a cluster of vines suddenly sprouted from beneath the man's feet, growing longer and rising higher into the air.

When the vines grew higher than the young man's height, countless green leaves burst forth, gradually taking on a concrete shape.

Qin Changsheng saw well-proportioned, solid muscles growing beneath the leaves, a very long philtrum protruding near the head area, the nose slightly upturned, the cheeks drooping downward, and two greenish-glowing eyes opening beneath the brow.

When everything settled into shape, what appeared before everyone was actually a tall ape!

The ape had a ferocious expression, and its body was covered in lush fur which, upon closer inspection, turned out to be countless slender leaves.

Two horns poked outward from the top of its head, resembling tree branches. Its expression was cold and arrogant, its gaze displaying an equal disdain for everything before it.

The young man reached out and pointed at the ape. "This is my Mountains and Seas Beast, the tea sprite 'Nightless Monkey'."

"The Beika Hero possesses the ability to explode, which is completely different from my Nightless Monkey."

"Therefore, I cannot possibly be the Beika Hero," the young man concluded. "You can call me Lu Qingyu."

"Lu Qingyu..." Qin Changsheng silently repeated the man's name.

The fact that the other party had so ostentatiously displayed his Mountains and Seas Beast showed that he was brimming with confidence.

Regardless of whether it was true, at least for now, Qin Changsheng was temporarily willing to believe his words.

However, there was one point Qin Changsheng still didn't understand.

"You said you saved my life," Qin Changsheng asked with a frown. "When? How did you save me? Why do I have no recollection of it at all?"

"Right when you threw the Corpse Mountain into the Qiantang River, I was the one who saved your life," Lu Qingyu replied indifferently. "To put it simply, actually, the Corpse Mountain was killed by me."
