Volume 1, Chapter 28: Teasing Her
“No need.” Ye Tian’ang immediately rose and headed to his room.
“Stop.” An elderly man with graying hair, clad in a black Taoist robe, shouted sternly. Although Ye Tian’ang was somewhat intoxicated, he halted at once upon hearing the command, quickly composing himself.
Unconsciously, their faces gradually drew near, each feeling the other's warm, sweet breath brush against their skin.
Before long, the performance officially began. The crowd watched with great enthusiasm, completely unaware that beneath the surface of this longevity banquet, danger lurked everywhere. Hidden in the shadows, Dong Ling Linfeng observed Duanmu Youning’s seemingly captivated expression with a cold sneer. “I want to see if such perfect coincidences truly exist in this world. Sixth Brother, are you ready?”
Lian Shuo and Han Ziye glanced at the empty space between them, exchanged a grudging look, and then simultaneously cast resentful glances toward Feng Kobei.
After pondering for a moment, Liu Feng said, “You may let go, but this matter is not what you think it is. After you release me, will you listen to my explanation?”
Just as everyone anticipated that Liu Pingfan would be beaten to a pulp, the fist stopped mere millimeters from his nose.
Tian Ming looked at his condition in surprise, then showed a disappointed expression. “Having absorbed nearly divine-level power, my strength matches that of a godslayer, yet why have I not broken through to that realm?”
Liu Yuhuai moved swiftly, no longer appearing the fragile figure from before. Denying Tang Qian even a moment’s respite, he grabbed her hair and roughly dragged her back to the bedroom. Tang Qian had barely found her footing when a sharp pain in her neck caused her to collapse, her consciousness fading as she clenched her fists tightly.
Soon after, the half-open door was kicked wide open. A clatter ensued as dozens of fully armed imperial guards surged in, weapons drawn, encircling Yan Xunhuan and Duanmu Youning, poised for battle.
Speaking as he led Ye Mingming off the stage, he also took Zhan Yan’er away from the scene. Yet the reporters trailing behind pressed on with relentless questions.
“Whether you’re formidable, I don’t know, but dealing with you shouldn’t be too difficult.” Gong Gong’s thick skin and sharp tongue were well-honed alongside Li Shaofan’s. In war, victory was paramount; everything else was only considered afterward—things that simply couldn’t be compared.
The city wall was strewn with countless corpses—both human and demon alike. Xia Chengguo sighed softly.

“I’m not Thanos, and you can’t control me!” Sean leaned forward slightly, eyes coldly fixed on death itself.
After nearly two rounds of team matches, just as the third competitive match began banning picks, Du Changsheng received a notification message from the organizers.
Li Miaozhu listened to the story but showed little expression. Her gaze then shifted toward Chu Tian in the distance.
The waiter looked baffled. “Two servings of each dish? Can you really eat that much?”
Unexpectedly, Han Bing stopped in his tracks upon seeing them, a radiant smile lighting up his face.
“Three hundred thousand star jade!” At last, after a brief pause, someone raised the bid again. This was likely the same person who had offered one hundred thousand star jade just moments before.
Kunpeng and the others approached the middle-aged man respectfully, like servants before a superior, careful not to raise their voices.
Moreover, this man was a master listed among the Immortal Seed rankings. Such a person had instantly fallen into such a pitiful state—it was shocking. They had just spoken so boldly; was this not courting death?
At that moment, Ji Rou was deeply moved by his words. It was precisely because Rong Xigu had given her such encouragement that she found the courage to face her new life.
The casino’s lighting was dim and yellowish. After an unknown length of time, a commotion erupted nearby. Jiang Guangguang looked up to see two men in black suits dragging out a slightly overweight man. The man’s face was filled with terror as he yelled and pleaded toward the man in front.
“He said when my aunt got married, my great-grandfather also disapproved of my uncle, but hasn’t he lived well?” He was referring to the time the Yan family opposed Qin Yichen.
They had known each other for over ten years, yet Ye Chen had never taken the time to understand Bai Huan’s family background.
---
“I’m telling you, if you don’t get this under control, I doubt you and Xixi will have any peace in the future!” Qin Yichen snorted coldly.
Dusk was approaching. On the western mountain ridge hung a half setting sun, the evening clouds ablaze, igniting half the sky. The sunset’s afterglow bathed the stone steps, tinting the bamboo groves along the path in red.
Everyone had left; only the three of them remained in the hospital room, which suddenly grew much quieter.
She frowned, fearing Aunt Qin’s nagging, so she didn’t refuse the drink. She cooled the ginger soup and drank it all in one breath, holding her breath as she swallowed.
A bowl of hot porridge finally eased the discomfort in her stomach. After paying, she wandered aimlessly along the road.
Lan Cangzi sighed deeply, his expression shifting repeatedly as he hurried to catch up. He was now bound to Mu Bai by a shared fate; in danger, they could not part ways. If Mu Bai died, he would not survive either.
The Wind and Thunder Demon Lord was instantly reduced to a wingless bird, blasted skyward, his body charred black as he screamed in agony.
When the young peak-level master fully emerged from the black smoke, Jiutian Qiluo and Lan Jing saw his face was unusually pale. Though he bore no obvious wounds, it was clear that Bai Yuda’s strike had not left him unscathed or untroubled.
