Chapter Five: Li Na
"Found it!" Chen Jiajia scanned the text rapidly, then looked at Hua Yun, hesitating to speak.
"Jiaojiao, what is it?" Hua Yun asked.
"Yunyun, do you know when and who exactly has been assigned this graduation project before?" Chen Jiajia thought about what she had just read and couldn't help but curse the school for its shamelessness.
"Jiaojiao, looking at your expression, what you found must be quite interesting."
"This graduation project first appeared when the school was founded, and everyone who drew it was a key member of a major family." After all, the Alliance First University was the best university in the Alliance, and most children from prominent families studied here. "Looking at the data, the students who received this project in the past all had families or powerful backing, and they were all held in high regard."
"Yunyun, do you have some background I don't know about?" Chen Jiajia wondered. Based on this information, it was clear that the assignment of this project was manipulated. Yet, Yunyun, who had no status or background, had been assigned it—there was clearly something wrong.
"I am just an orphan, you know that. I don't have any secret parents coming to claim me; my parents died long ago in the war against the Zerg." Hua Yun was well aware of the original owner's history.
"Then someone must be targeting you on purpose. Yunyun, could it be Li Na? I feel like she’s always looking for trouble with you." Regardless, such a person was truly disgusting, using someone's future as an outlet for their spite. Even if she hated someone, she couldn't do something like that.
"Not necessarily." Hua Yun shook her head.
At the mention of Li Na, Hua Yun couldn't help but recall the past. Not long ago, Li Na had approached the original owner, demanding she stay away from her fiancé, Zhao Weilin. It was pathetic, but the original owner had no memory of anyone named Zhao Weilin at all. It was during that confrontation that the original owner was accidentally pushed to the ground, hitting her head on a rock—which was exactly when she had arrived in this body.
"She hurt you not long ago, and you’re still defending her?" Chen Jiajia couldn't help but exclaim.
Suddenly, someone appeared in front of them. It was none other than Li Na.
"Li Na, did you change Yunyun's graduation project?" Chen Jiajia couldn't hold back and stepped forward to ask directly.
"What are you talking about? I only warned her to stay away from Zhao Weilin," Li Na said haughtily. "Your head is healed now, right? I took you to the infirmary, so don't even think about trying to extort me."
"Besides, Zhao Weilin is my fiancé, and I won't allow anyone to get close to him." Li Na grew angry at the thought. A few days ago, Zhao Weilin had been very impatient with her, claiming he had fallen for a girl, and everything he said pointed to none other than Hua Yun. Zhao Weilin's family was slightly weaker than hers, but he was handsome and had been admitted to the Alliance First University, making him a decent match for a strategic marriage.
"I’ve already told you, I really don't know who Zhao Weilin is," Hua Yun said. "And I don't just fancy any Tom, Dick, or Harry."
"If you can't keep your dog on a leash, don't blame others—check your own dog instead, okay?" Chen Jiajia had been inseparable from Hua Yun and had never seen her have any contact with Zhao Weilin. They might have bumped into him once or twice on the road, but they had never interacted. She couldn't understand how a lunatic like Li Na could think Yunyun had anything to do with him.
"If you really have nothing to do with him, then why did he tell me he likes you?" Li Na blurted out.
"Did you even investigate before coming to cause trouble for me? Even if you didn't look into it before, have you done nothing these past few days?" Hua Yun couldn't help but retort. She had only been here for a couple of days and had already figured out most of the situation.
"If I hadn't checked, I wouldn't have come to you. It's precisely because I checked that I came."
"He appears around you constantly, staring at you longingly. Tell me, is that not liking you?"
