City Lord Ji Cheng looked at Shen Yi with eager eyes and said, “It’s that kind of glowing puppet, white in color!”
“City Lord Ji, are there still severely wounded soldiers in the city? But I only brought one battlefield doctor this time!” Shen Yi replied helplessly. Then he called the battlefield doctor waiting outside to come in. When the white puppet entered, City Lord Ji hurriedly said to Shen Yi, “Commander, could you let her treat me?”
“Are you ill?” Director Dian interjected, looking puzzled at City Lord Ji, who appeared well-maintained.
“Hmm, Director Dian, I am ill, and so are you!”
“You’re the one who’s ill, your whole family is ill.”
“Director Dian, how do you know that?”
Director Dian really wanted to throw a grenade and send him to meet the god of magic! What’s wrong with City Lord Ji today? Has he got a fever and lost his mind? What nonsense is this! Coupled with his serious expression, the old director was speechless.
“Please forgive the commander for the misunderstanding. City Lord Ji is usually not like this!” Dian Lu quickly smoothed things over.
Before Shen Yi could speak, Ji Cheng seemed to realize there was a misunderstanding and quickly continued, “Commander, your puppet can treat hidden ailments. Such an ability cannot be easily achieved by magic or true energy—it’s truly a blessing for humanity!” Shen Yi was somewhat taken aback and hadn’t yet composed a reply when Director Dian suddenly stood up from his seat, his eyes shining brightly as he looked at the battlefield doctor, excitedly asking, “Is this true?” Obviously addressing City Lord Ji.
“Absolutely true, no doubt about it. When defending the city before, the soldiers who were treated all said the same. With this white puppet, humans without hidden ailments can significantly improve their strength and avoid the suffering caused by such ailments!” Ji Cheng finished in one breath, then drank the tea on the table in one gulp and wiped his mouth with his sleeve. He continued, “Moreover, according to the soldiers treated, the effect of this white puppet surpasses light magic by many times!”
“So miraculous? If there were many such puppets, would the human army become invincible?”
At this moment, Shen Yi felt somewhat redundant, unable to join the conversation. These two old men were chatting back and forth as if Shen Yi didn’t exist.
He could only sit quietly, drinking tea to ease the awkwardness. When the tea ran out, he began eating the tea leaves. “So fragrant.”
After a while, Ji Cheng suddenly remembered the purpose of his visit and looked at Shen Yi. Shen Yi said nothing, understanding his intent. Then the battlefield doctor raised her white armored arm and aimed it at Ji Cheng. A beam of light enveloped Ji Cheng for two or three seconds before fading and disappearing.

Ji Cheng felt his body and noticed that the hidden ailment he had carried for many years had improved significantly but was not completely healed. At that moment, a female voice sounded from within the battlefield doctor’s armor: “Due to the strength of the condition and its long duration, treatment requires daily exposure, three seconds each time, three times per course. After about two courses, complete recovery can be achieved,” the battlefield doctor explained according to Shen Yi’s instructions.
Ji Cheng didn’t fully understand the concept of ‘courses,’ but he got the general idea—it meant he had to keep receiving treatments for a few days.
After understanding the battlefield doctor’s capabilities, Shen Yi secretly instructed that the ailment should not be cured all at once, as such an overwhelming treatment might cause adverse effects.
He then treated Director Dian, whose condition was even more severe than Ji Cheng’s. The result was that Ji Cheng had to return home and come back for treatment the next day. Loans were out of the question—Director Dian had already claimed them.
The android Shen Yi returned to the accommodation assigned to him: a two-story building with a garden, the same treatment as the deputy director. After that, Shen Yi didn’t pay much attention to subsequent events, confident that android Shen Yi would handle things well.
In a tavern in Saintheart City:
“Have you heard? The commander has come to teach in Saintheart City and brought the White Angel.”
“You mean that white puppet that can cure hidden ailments? The whole city has been talking about it lately!”
“Yes, that glowing puppet that can heal. I prefer calling it the White Angel,” said a burly soldier with a beard, taking a gulp of beer.
“Uncle, you’ve had too much to drink. How can such a miraculous puppet exist in this world?”
“Believe it or not, young man. You must be new to Saintheart City. When the orcs attacked before, at a critical moment, ten White Angels descended from the sky. Several beams of holy light shone on the injured soldiers; within seconds, those seriously wounded stood up lively and continued fighting as if nothing had happened. I’ve lived a long life, and this was the first time I saw such a thing. No wonder you don’t believe it—after all, you weren’t there!”
Bazhahei said this with pity as he looked at the young man he was speaking to and took another gulp of beer.
The next day, a long line formed outside the director’s office. Upon learning the white puppet’s treatment capabilities, many in Saintheart City lost sleep, as no amount of wealth could compare to a healthy body. Given the city’s strong martial spirit, many had endured pain from training at some point.
After treating over a hundred officers and teachers including Ji Cheng, the battlefield doctor’s energy was depleted and had to recover slowly. The crowd reluctantly dispersed. Unable to find the commander himself, the director became a sought-after figure; people practically broke down the door seeking treatment.
The old director was helpless and had to swallow his pride to consult Shen Yi again about sending more battlefield doctors.
Shen Yi agreed without hesitation, making the old director’s face light up like a blooming chrysanthemum.

A massive transport ship lifted off, causing students and teachers to exclaim. The once proud magicians felt small and yearned to ride the transport and soar through the skies.
In recent days, Shen Yi had been busy. He cordoned off a large area around the endless forest’s edge, planting dense spider mines. Further in were patrol squads consisting of ten machine gunners, two flamethrower soldiers, and one battlefield doctor. Deeper still, spaced at intervals, were siege tanks with thick barrels pointing skyward, and missile turrets covering the area from the forest edge to the human base. A misty drizzle fell from the sky, steel and jungle intertwining into a surreal scene.
A transport plane flew overhead to pick up battlefield doctors. This time, Shen Yi planned to take twenty battlefield doctors, which should resolve the medical crisis in Saintheart City.
One day, as android Shen Yi walked to his technology class, choosing courses to teach at the base, three deadly arrows shot simultaneously from three directions toward him. From the roofs of buildings appeared three figures—the assassins—briefly manifesting as they used their powers.
At the same time, three gusts of wind blades flew toward the assassins. A protective shield suddenly appeared around Shen Yi; the three arrows were deflected by the shield, while the three assassins were pierced through the chest by the wind blades, falling silently. All this happened in the blink of an eye, showing the immense power of the magic users.
Watching through the base’s shared perspective, Shen Yi sighed in relief, thinking, “Fortunately, it wasn’t my real body outside. The outside world is too dangerous; it’s safer at home.” Just as he relaxed, thinking it was a false alarm—
A terrified scream echoed through the command hall: “Oh my god!”
Suddenly, a skeletal head with eerie white flames in its eyes appeared before android Shen Yi. It stabbed a fiery dagger through the protective shield and pierced Shen Yi’s chest. Then Shen Yi’s shared screen went black—his game character had obviously died. Shen Yi in the command hall broke into a cold sweat, thinking, “That’s undead! There are undead in this world? Scared me to death.”
The undead assassin killed android Shen Yi and tried to escape, but was met with a barrage of magic, cutting off all retreat. A level-four peak undead assassin was blasted to pieces.
The plan had been to use Shen Yi as bait to lure out potential enemies and eliminate them, but unexpectedly, the enemy sent a level-four peak assassin—an earlier level that Wang Sheng hadn’t yet surpassed—exceeding everyone’s expectations. The time was too short to cast rescue magic, so the bait died.
When Wang Sheng and Dian Lu arrived, Wang Sheng looked angrily at android Shen Yi lying in a pool of blood. “Damn undead! They all deserve to go to hell.” Rolling up his sleeves, he prepared to settle the score.
Director Dian stopped Wang Sheng and whispered, “The human who died is not the commander. The true puppeteer would never reveal themselves so easily.”
