Chapter 44
Across the boundless skies of the different world, several wraith fighters streaked like black phantoms, soaring rapidly toward the various powers entrenched across the continent. These wraith fighters radiated a mysterious, ghostly glow as if hailing from another dimension; wherever they passed, even the air itself seemed warped, rippling with eerie distortions.
The peaceful lives of the various small and medium-sized factions along the route were shattered by this sudden anomaly. Ordinary citizens looked up at the sky in astonishment, watching as that sector of the heavens appeared to be aggressively kneaded by an invisible, giant hand, causing space to twist and deform. Immediately afterward, countless sheets of paper drifted down like a blizzard. Printed across these papers were diplomatic-relation terms issued by a mysterious power.
"Look! What is that in the sky?" a young orc warrior with boar-like features pointed upward, his eyes filled with doubt and vigilance.
"I don't know. I've never seen a sight like this. And what are those falling papers?" his companion asked, looking equally bewildered.
Meanwhile, the powerhouses among the various factions sensed the disturbance as well. Detecting the strange fluctuations emanating from the heavens, a profound sense of unease welled up within their hearts. Relying on their formidable cultivation and strength, these experts launched themselves into the air without hesitation, hurtling toward the wraith fighters in an attempt to intercept these unknown and mysterious visitors.
In the dwarven settlement, stocky yet immensely strong dwarven warriors gripped their battle axes tightly, pouring forth from their underground workshops. Their clan chieftain stood upon a high platform within the settlement, gazing at the warped spectacle in the sky with heavily furrowed brows.
"What on earth is happening? Could it be an enemy attack?" the chieftain's deep, resonant voice echoed across the settlement.
"No matter who they are, anyone daring to act wildly in our dwarven territory will have to taste the might of our battle axes!" an elite dwarven warrior roared, brandishing his weapon fiercely.
Within the elven forest, the keen perception of the elves allowed them to detect the anomalies in the sky instantly. Elven archers quickly drew their bows, the tips of their arrows glinting with a cold, piercing light aimed squarely at the heavens. The elven elders gathered together, weaving ancient magic in an attempt to probe the origin and intentions of these wraith fighters.
"These mysterious flying machines exude an aura of danger; we must proceed with caution," the elven elder's voice was like a breeze whispering through the woods, yet it carried an unquestionable majesty.
In human towns, knights mounted their warhorses, gripping their lances tightly as they assembled under the king's command. Mages stood atop the city walls, gathering various elemental lights in their hands, fully prepared for battle.
"This is an unprecedented sight. We cannot act rashly, but neither can we allow the enemy to approach our towns unhindered," the human lord declared with a solemn expression, his gaze locked firmly on the wraith fighters in the sky.
Yet, those wraith fighters seemed entirely indifferent to the commotion below, continuing along their established trajectory. Papers rained continuously from the craft, resembling a grand, surreal snowstorm of parchment.
Finally, the intercepting powerhouses closed in on the wraith fighters. A human warrior roared, taking the initiative to launch an attack. The massive battle axe in his hands flashed with a frigid glint, carrying a crushing momentum as it slashed viciously toward a wraith fighter. However, the moment the blade made contact with the craft, a blue energy shield flared into existence, effortlessly deflecting the ferocious blow. A powerful shockwave rebounded into his arm, numbing his limbs and nearly sending him plummeting from the sky.
"What is this thing? How can it be so hard?!" he gasped, his eyes wide with utter shock.
Meanwhile, an elven mage cast a potent wind-type spell. A howling gale swept toward a wraith fighter, attempting to blow it off course. Yet, the aircraft merely shuddered slightly in the wind before instantly regaining its stability. Following that, several crimson laser beams shot from the fighter, striking toward the elven mage like bolts of lightning. The mage hurriedly cast a defensive spell, forming a green barrier of light before him. The laser beams struck the barrier with a blinding flash, and the sheer force of the impact forced the elven mage back several paces.
"The weapons of these fellows are too formidable; we are no match for them!" the elven mage thought, mentally despairing.
Facing the onslaught from numerous powerhouses, Shen Yi spoke calmly through the communication system aboard the wraith fighter: "Everyone, please do not panic; we harbor no ill intentions. These diplomatic terms are a testament to our sincerity, and we hope to explore the possibilities of mutual cooperation with all factions." His amplified volume resonated across the gathering places of every race.
However, the powerful figures below paid no heed to his words, and their attacks continued unabated. Human mages joined forces to cast a massive magic array. Gigantic magical energy converged in the sky, forming an immense fireball that roared toward the wraith fighters. The defensive systems of the wraith fighters activated once more, layering multiple energy barriers that blocked the fireball outside. The fireball exploded against the energy barrier, transforming into a brilliant display of flames, yet the wraith fighters remained completely unscathed.
Wang Sheng, the vice-president of the magic academy, wished to stop all of this from happening. He knew these were Shen Yi's forces.
However, since this had been tacitly permitted by the king, he found himself utterly powerless to intervene.
"Such resistance on your part is entirely meaningless; our technology far surpasses anything you can imagine. But we truly do not wish to be your enemies. We hope you can calm down and read our diplomatic terms," Shen Yi's voice rang out from the wraith fighter once more, echoing across the sky.
Amidst the fierce conflict, several sheets of paper drifted down to the ground. A dwarven scholar picked one up and began to read it carefully. The diplomatic terms detailed the methods of cooperation, profit distribution, and a vision for mutual development. Although many concepts were entirely alien to a dwarf, he could sense that this might very well be an opportunity to alter the fate of the entire dwarven clan.
"Everyone, hold your attacks! Look at these terms—they might actually be to our benefit," the dwarven scholar shouted aloud.
Hearing his words, some of the powerhouses gradually ceased their assaults, bending down to pick up the papers scattered on the ground and reading them. As they delved deeper into the text, their expressions shifted subtly. Some wore looks of astonishment, while others fell into deep contemplation.
"These conditions do appear favorable to us. Perhaps we should consider establishing diplomatic relations with them," a monkey-demon powerhouse murmured, frowning.
"But how can we trust them so easily? Could there be some hidden conspiracy behind this?" another skeleton general questioned skeptically.
All factions had now gained a preliminary understanding of Shen Yi from You City.
Holding his communication device, Wang Sheng hesitated, unsure whether or not to call Shen Yi. He had always assumed Shen Yi was merely a puppet master; perhaps reality was entirely different from what he had imagined.
Those who knew of Shen Yi from You City, as well as those who did not, were now all left guessing as to what Shen Yi was planning to accomplish.
Strolling idly through the imperial capital, Ma Yi casually plucked a falling sheet of paper from the air. "Oh? Refusing to let me enter the city, eh? Very well. So they intend to form an alliance. Since the Pantheon Covenant forbids our kind from interfering, I am more than happy to sit back and watch a good show."
With that, he vanished into the bustling crowd. Not a single person amid the heavy traffic and thronging pedestrians noticed that someone had simply disappeared into thin air.
Shen Yi's intentions were quite simple: he required resources to research the technological evolution of the Terran forces from StarCraft, while this continent was in dire need of peace. Ever since he transmigrated and developed satellite reconnaissance capabilities, this thought had taken root. Through satellites in this martial-arts-supreme continent, he had witnessed far too many tragic events. Civilians lacking adequate protection essentially lived in the depths of hell.
While others might have grown accustomed to viewing commoners as mere blades of grass, Shen Yi could not stomach it. Although he had slain countless undead and orcs since arriving in this world, as a modern transmigrator, he held an innate sense of affinity for the common folk at the bottom of society.

Hu Yu lay there in comfort, her thoughts drifting aimlessly through her memories. Everything about You City felt like a brilliant, colorful dream journey, leaving an indelible mark upon her heart.
The diverse and tremendously powerful military units were You City's unique scenery. The marine infantrymen marched in uniform synchronization, their determination shining through their gazes; the ghost operatives were unfathomably mysterious, resembling sharp blades hidden in the darkness; and the siege tanks stood like colossal beasts of steel, radiating a bone-chilling deterrent aura. That massive iron citadel, too, resembled an unyielding fortress, carrying boundless strength and hope.
And then there was that peculiar "carriage that ran without horses"—the vulture hover bike. Its nimble frame darted back and forth across the battlefield, offering a truly unique shock to the senses. Every single scene replayed in her mind like a cinematic film, intensifying her yearning for You City.
Her gaze fell once more upon the wraith fighter parked on the lawn outside the courtyard—this was a precious gift given to her by Shen Yi. Though it sat there quietly, it seemed ready to soar into the skies and pierce the firmament at any moment. The sheer level of obsession her father, the Demon Emperor, held for this wraith fighter left Hu Yu somewhat amused yet exasperated. His earnest research made him look like a curious child. Every day, he circled the craft endlessly, sometimes closely inspecting every single detail of the fighter, and other times closing his eyes in an attempt to use his spiritual power to probe the mysteries hidden within. Yet each time he shook his head, it seemed to signify that countless unknowns still awaited his discovery.
Hu Yu could not help letting out a soft chuckle. She knew that the wraith fighter represented far more than just an advanced technological product; it served as a symbol of the special bond shared between Shen Yi and themselves. As for her, she eagerly looked forward to crossing paths with Shen Yi more frequently in the future, ready to embark once again on that wondrous journey filled with pleasant surprises in You City.
Reclining lazily in her rocking chair, Hu Yu stretched her limbs completely, a faint smile lingering at the corners of her lips. The melody flowing softly from her cozy device enveloped her like a gentle breeze. Closing her eyes slightly, she immersed herself in this leisurely moment of tranquility. Yet, in her heart, she was already plotting: the novelties of You City pulled at her like a magnet, and she needed to figure out how to cleverly outwit her father so she could revisit that wondrous place and roam about to her heart's content once more.
