Volume One, Chapter 18: The Live Broadcast Python Terror II
"Really, it looks like there’s a huge snake behind the streamer," a netizen named Bear Two commented at that moment. The live chat exploded with messages, and the viewer count suddenly soared to fifty thousand. Yet, the user named Invincible still held the top spot on the leaderboard.
Staring at the barrage of comments on her computer screen, Kiki turned around and nearly screamed in terror—a massive black python was twisting its enormous head, staring intensely at her.
Her heart pounded wildly in her chest, as if it might leap out at any moment, refusing to calm down.
"A snake... there’s a snake!" she pointed at Wang Long’s head, her whole body going limp in her seat, unable to move even if she wanted to.
"Damn it, my broken leg is cramping again—believe me, I’ll chop you down!" she cursed inwardly, then closed her eyes, bracing herself to accept her fate.
But Wang Long did not, as she feared, open his huge mouth to swallow her. Instead, using a form of telepathic communication with a magnetic, deep voice, he spoke slowly:
"Do not be afraid. I am the Great Immortal of these mountains. Will you lend me your aid?"
Listening to Wang Long’s voice in her mind, Kiki couldn’t help but think: "Since when did snakes start talking?"
Yet, her sharp mind processed the situation in two and a half seconds and quickly responded:
"I don’t want to. Don’t think I don’t know you’re just playing with me. What need would a snake like you have for my help?"
"I’m just a weak female university student. Please, Great Snake, let me go!"
Despite her pleas, Wang Long didn’t enter the courtyard directly; the yard was too small to contain his massive body. He didn’t want to damage someone’s home—after all, he was a well-mannered python.
Meanwhile, the live chat erupted as countless viewers simultaneously saw the giant python.
Its body stretched tens of meters long, towering as high as a five-story building. The snake’s head protruded like a small car, and its jet-black, mesmerizing eyes were as large as lanterns.
Viewers on the other side of the internet shuddered in fear, causing the live audience count to skyrocket from fifty thousand to one hundred thousand.
Comments flooded in:
Sakura: "The streamer is about to perform a python swallowing a person act."
Watching the standoff between the woman and the snake, Old Xie couldn’t help but curse: "Damn, I didn’t expect a mutated giant python to appear in China."
Bear Two urged: "Streamer, run! What are you waiting for?"
Invincible added: "Yeah, yeah, if the streamer could run, I’d give away ten supercars. This python is tens of meters long—what’s the point in running? There’s no way she can outrun it."
Amid this tense confrontation, the network security administrator simultaneously issued a security alert.
Within mere seconds, with rapid, decisive action, Kiki’s livestream was forcibly shut down, the screen turning pitch black.
Indeed, she had been forcibly taken off the air. In fact, the moment Wang Long appeared, the security team had already taken notice.
Seeing the python’s enormous size, they broke out in a cold sweat. If this turned into a live broadcast of a python eating a person, it would be catastrophic.
It would surely dominate headlines across China: "Streamer in a remote mountain village devoured by giant python—China’s first person swallowed by a large creature on camera."
Following the data stream, the director of the security bureau responsible for the Ten Thousand Mountains region stared anxiously at the images of the python transmitted earlier.
He immediately called the military district: "A monster has appeared. Villages at the mountain’s foot are under attack. Dispatch armed forces immediately!"
"Is the information reliable?" the military district officer on the phone asked.
Without hesitation, the security director sent all the evidence over. Upon reviewing it, the local military dispatched helicopters and armed troops at once. This operation was codenamed "Cheetah."
Its primary mission was to reach Tian Village in the shortest time possible and rescue the villagers.
With the military’s intervention, Kiki’s anxiety eased slightly, unaware that over ten thousand soldiers were heading toward Tian Village.
Instead, Wang Long communicated telepathically once more:
"Foolish woman, do I look like a man-eating snake?" Wang Long snorted coldly.
"Not at all—you definitely don’t," Kiki hurriedly shook her head. At this point, she just wanted to comply with him.
No matter what he said, she could only agree, never contradict.
"Don’t be afraid. Though I am a snake, I never eat people. Will you be my tool?"
"Yes, yes! Great Snake—no, no, Immortal Snake, I’ll do whatever you say," she replied.
After this exchange, Kiki realized that the giant python before her didn’t seem malicious, and her nerves calmed somewhat.
Yet, Wang Long’s enormous head still radiated an overwhelming pressure, especially those lantern-sized eyes staring directly at her.
Her sixth sense told her she was marked by a terrifying creature—one she could neither escape from nor avoid.
Hearing Kiki’s willingness to be his tool, Wang Long transmitted again:
"Good. Now start your livestream. I want to be on camera."
Kiki was stunned: "What? You want to be on camera? Immortal Snake, don’t joke with me." She smiled wryly, then said, "I’m just an ordinary student with not much meat on me, and I haven’t showered for three days—I’m not tasty."
Wang Long: "..."
"Don’t girls these days hate bathing?" he mentally grumbled.
Little did he know that Kiki was so frightened she was babbling nonsense, trying to deflect awkwardness.
"I’m not joking. If you don’t start the livestream, I’ll eat you."
Faced with Wang Long’s threat, Kiki reluctantly tried to reopen her closed livestream as usual.
But this time, no matter what she did, she couldn’t open the stream. It was as if a virus or malicious block had sealed it off.
Sweat began to bead on her forehead, fearing Wang Long might think she was refusing and eat her.
"Why so slow? I thought you were a student—still a university student? Can’t even start a livestream?"
"Immortal Snake, it seems the livestream has been blocked."
Wang Long’s eyes widened as he stared at the small screen. Sure enough, a line of red text appeared: "You have been temporarily banned by the platform."
"No way! My path to gathering followers is blocked again," Wang Long was frustrated, but now he could only turn away from Tian Village.
Unbeknownst to them, his appearance had already sent shockwaves throughout China and caught the attention of some martial arts families practicing ancient combat techniques.
