At the main peak of the Qingyun Sect, within a luxurious mansion.

A handsome youth in white sat by the edge of a lake, lounging in a chair with his legs crossed, leisurely fishing all by himself.

"Whoosh!"

A gust of wind blew past, ruffling the youth's long hair. Without him noticing, an old man appeared before him.

"You've come?"

The youth did not spare him a glance, his eyes fixed quietly upon the lake.

"Young Sect Master!"

The youth before him was the mastermind behind the recent events: Yun Che, the Young Master of the Qingyun Sect.

Yun Che possessed immense talent, a rare prodigy born to the Qingyun Sect once in a millennium. He had even sacrificed a portion of his own lifespan to trade for a glimpse of heavenly secrets, through which he discovered the existence of the Supreme Bone within Su Yang’s body.

Later, the change in leadership at the Su family and the murder of Su Yang were both orchestrated by his hand, all for the sake of that Supreme Bone.

"What is it? Elder Jiang Yun, do you have something to report?"

The old man, Jiang Yun, kept his head bowed, remaining silent.

"By the way, has Elder Murong returned?"

"He has returned!"

Hearing this, Yun Che set down his fishing rod and chuckled. "Is that so? I had him bring back a little gift for me when he went down the mountain."

"What kind of gift?" Jiang Yun asked, full of curiosity.

Yun Che glared at Jiang Yun, the smile vanishing from his face instantly as he said viciously, "Are you so eager to know?"

Jiang Yun’s expression changed drastically. He waved his hands hurriedly and said, "No, no, Young Sect Master, you’ve misunderstood. I don't want to know anything!"

Yun Che continued with a smile, "That little trinket is extremely important to me. Elder Murong gave me his word when he went down the mountain."

"If he failed to bring it back, he was to bring his own head to see me!"

Jiang Yun suddenly remembered something, his expression freezing instantly.

"This..." He fell silent. "Elder Murong did indeed return, but..."

Yun Che, not yet realizing the gravity of the situation, said with a smile, "Elder Jiang Yun, why are you still standing there? Hurry and call Elder Murong over; I want to see the gift he brought me."

Seeing Yun Che in such a mood, Jiang Yun found it difficult to speak. He nodded gently and said, "Very well, Young Sect Master, one moment! I shall go invite him now."

After a while, Jiang Yun returned alone.

"Why are you alone? Where is Elder Murong?"

As the words left his lips, a group of disciples entered, carrying a large black coffin.

Looking at the coffin, Yun Che seemed to understand something; the corners of his mouth, previously upturned, slowly drooped.

"Young Sect Master, Elder Murong is inside."

"Murong Shan... he’s dead?" Yun Che asked, looking astonished.

"Yes," Jiang Yun nodded.

Yun Che strode forward and threw the lid of the coffin open. Murong Shan lay inside, covered in wounds, his head missing.

Yun Che pointed at Murong Shan and sneered, "Murong Shan, you bastard, you really know how to play games!"

"I told you to bring me the Supreme Bone, and you brought yourself instead? I told you to bring your head to see me, and now you’ve lost your head entirely?"

Jiang Yun added, "Young Sect Master, when our people arrived, Elder Murong’s head was already gone."

"What exactly happened in Dongyang City? Speak!"

Yun Che raised a hand and slammed it fiercely toward the coffin.

"Bang!"

In the next second, the coffin and Murong Shan’s corpse exploded, filling the air with a mist of blood.

Seeing this, Jiang Yun’s body trembled violently, and he nearly fell to the ground.

He lowered his head and spoke slowly, "Reporting to the Young Sect Master, the Su family has been disbanded, and all the men we sent have been killed."

Yun Che wore a stern face and said coldly, "Could it be that Su Yang used the power of the Supreme Bone to stage a counter-kill?"

"As for Su Yang, there is currently no trace of him..." Jiang Yun continued.

"A bunch of useless trash. It seems I must do everything myself!"

Yun Che sat cross-legged on the spot and began to divine the truth. After a moment, he snapped his eyes open, filled with terror.

"Su Yang is dead? Then where is my Supreme Bone? Where did it go?"

Yun Che was burning with anxiety, terrified that the duck he had nearly caught had flown away.

"Young Sect Master, I have a method," Jiang Yun volunteered.

"Stop with the nonsense, hurry up!"

Jiang Yun did not hesitate. With a wave of his hand, he gathered the blood mist that had been Murong Shan into his palm. He then quickly formed hand seals, chanting a spell.

"Hum, hum, hum!"

A low humming sound resonated, and images began to manifest.

Yun Che looked at Ye Changsheng in the images, his eyes narrowing, filled with murderous intent.

"He did all of this? Was it to avenge Su Yang?"

"Could it be that the Supreme Bone is with him?"

At this thought, Yun Che could not help but grow excited.

"Finally, I’ve found you!"

With that, Yun Che turned abruptly to look at Jiang Yun.

"Elder Jiang Yun, handle this matter! Gather more men; this time, we must capture him!"

"Yes!"

...

After Ye Changsheng and Su Qinqin left Dongyang City, they went to the neighboring Xihai City.

He remained the same as always: wherever he went, he carried on his business. Upon entering the city, he set up his stall right in front of the city gates.

"Step right up, don't miss out! Funerals! Funeral services!"

Ye Changsheng and Su Qinqin shouted for half the day, but they didn't get a single customer.

Su Qinqin looked at Ye Changsheng and gave a bitter smile. "Sir, tell me the truth: other than me, is there really no one else who comes to you?"

"What kind of talk is that? I’ve already sent off a hundred people! You girl, are you questioning my professional standards?"

"Gurgle, gurgle!"

Su Qinqin chuckled. "Sir, I’m not questioning you, it’s just that I’m hungry..."

"Is that all? Let's go! Let's find an inn and have a proper meal. We'll come back after we're full!"

"Long live, Sir!"

Su Qinqin looked around, her eyes sparkling; anyone who didn't know better would have thought she was a starving ghost reincarnated.

"Sir, where shall we eat?"

"No rush, let's go buy some clothes first."

Su Qinqin was impatient. "Sir, it wouldn't be too late to buy clothes after we eat! Besides, the clothes you're wearing are quite handsome..."

"Who said I was buying for me? I'm buying for you."

"Buying for me?" Su Qinqin pointed at herself.

Ye Changsheng nodded and continued, "Look at the state you're in now; if people didn't know better, they'd think you were a refugee."

The two walked into a clothing store.

"Pick whatever you like, I'm paying!"

A while later, Su Qinqin walked out wearing a snow-white dress. After the change in attire, she looked like a completely different person.

A moment ago, she was a little beggar. Now, in the blink of an eye, she had transformed into a little beauty!

Su Qinqin’s features were exquisitely refined and her appearance was incredibly sweet. With just a touch of light makeup, she was heart-stoppingly lovely.

Who would think she was a servant girl? Anyone who didn't know better would have assumed she was a young lady from a wealthy house.

Ye Changsheng looked her up and down, thinking to himself, "No wonder that guy Su Yang always kept her with him..."

Su Qinqin stepped closer, staring at Ye Changsheng, and asked with confusion, "Sir, what are you looking at?"

"Nothing..."

"Sir, am I beautiful?"

"Beautiful!"

Ye Changsheng let the word slip out subconsciously.

Su Qinqin giggled, looking proud of herself. Ye Changsheng blushed and offered an awkward smile.

"You heard wrong, I said I wasn't looking at anything..."

Who would believe that?

"Sir, why are you blushing? Are you shy?"

Ye Changsheng gave a light cough and hurriedly changed the subject.

"Alright, I'm hungry too, let's go eat!"

Su Qinqin wouldn't let it go, sticking close to Ye Changsheng’s side.

"Sir, am I really beautiful, or am I fake-beautiful?"

"Not listening, not listening, the monk is chanting scriptures..."
