Chapter 41

Chen Junyi stood with half his body obscured by smoke. Just then, a gust of wind generated by the palm of the super-giant mobile suit dispersed the haze, revealing the state of his other side.
Seeing Mu Qingcheng still standing at the stairwell on the roof, Jing Chuan smiled and beckoned to her.
He had already finished his meditation for the day, so he planned to turn in early. Before he could lie down, he received a call from Liu Yue, who told him she had arrived safely at school, moved into the dormitory, and would not be renting a place outside.
"In order to complete the formatting of 'Zero' in such a short time, they employed this technique to force her through a prolonged brainwashing process. It is certainly a highly efficient method, but they must not have considered the damage it would cause to her brain..." Winter’s brow furrowed even deeper.
The Crouching Dragon Toad let out a low growl, its nostrils flaring as it inhaled. The pure energy and shattered demon cores of the hundreds of demon kings, recently slain by Yu Yanglin’s explosive Dharma body, were instantly swept up and drawn toward the beast's nose.
The scene fell into a deathly silence, broken only by the sound of a basketball bouncing against the wooden floorboards, echoing across the court.
On a main thoroughfare in Kamigami, an Audi A8—not flashy, but sufficiently luxurious—traveled steadily, flanked by three Mercedes-Benz sedans and following two Toyota cars in the lead.
Chen Yaxian’s illness struck right on schedule, and judging by the expressions of the members of the Pattern Group, the situation seemed dire.
The leader of the Night Organization, Juan Lou, spoke with boundless arrogance, as if he possessed absolute certainty that he could kill both Yu Yanglin and the Abbot of the Dragon-Elephant Temple.
Once the scene was cleared and the leaders departed, the others searched frantically for Xia Fan’s whereabouts, only to eventually disperse in disappointment.
Hei Chenzi had no choice but to remain kneeling, his heart filled with unease. He did not know why his father, the Emperor, had become so angry.
Yuan Qiuhua said: "For the sake of writing, I sit by a dim lamp and an old Buddha, detached from worldly affairs. I can forgo sleep and forget to eat. It makes me forget everything, leaving only this small square of space before me! If I don't write for a day, my hands itch; if I don't write, I feel something is missing; if I don't write, I feel unsatisfied."

This sentence could easily be taken as sarcasm, but with Qian Shuishui’s expression as she asked, it felt even more like a deliberate attempt to belittle others.
Another burly man tried to ambush Yue Li from behind, but he did not expect her to dodge nimbly. Like a phantom, Yue Li flashed behind him and delivered a kick to his back. The man spat out a mouthful of blood and collapsed to the side.
Regarding the state of Jin Nanfeng’s illness, Nan Yu had little say; such psychological afflictions were never something the general public could dissect. That Jin Nanfeng had become what he was now, no longer changing from moment to moment, was perhaps the best possible outcome for most people. But for Wang Xinyu, it was likely the exact opposite.
She still needed this job, so she remained humble for the time being—though it was only temporary.
Her goal was various secret manuals and classic texts, as only within those records could she hope to find even the slightest clue. Alas, despite her efforts, she had gained nothing so far.
Thus, the monumental task of protecting the three defenseless individuals fell to Chanyeol.
The island of Night Garden was now open to visitors, provided they made an appointment in advance. For safety reasons, everyone had to pass through extremely strict security checks upon arrival.
"Follow me and prepare for battle," Chen Han commanded with a grand wave of his hand. They had been thoroughly conquered by the immense power Chen Han had displayed and naturally followed his lead.
Zhang Liang was carried into the prison, coughing incessantly; he was clearly unwell. Besides those carrying him, two men dressed in black followed, their faces expressionless, hands resting on their sword hilts at all times.
Xuan Chenxing sighed with apparent helplessness, though his reddened, thin lips curled into a wicked, charming smirk.
"It is a ghost, an assistant to the enemy. Your men couldn't get in, and that is likely why. Very well, let’s leave that aside for now and see what it has to say," Su Li said, her expression calm.
In the dead of night, who could be coming? Had an assassin followed them? Nan Ye shivered, instinctively thinking of going to the cellar to sound the alarm, but she feared being spotted the moment she stepped out. She was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan.

Nan Ye didn’t overthink it. Since Bai Quanlin had given it as a gift, she accepted it, threaded the needles, and hung them by her bed. However, she felt that for the sake of those two bottles of homemade soy sauce and vinegar, she would have happily accepted the needles even if Bai Quanlin had just given them to her directly.
Ji Zefeng coughed with cold aloofness once more, nodded in satisfaction, and then everyone raised their glasses to drink.
"Dad, I brought you here today because I wanted you to see how your son is being bullied at school," Chu Xingyu said with a serious expression.
Yet, he had not expected Li Shihan to offer a reminder. This caught him slightly off guard, and he instinctively turned his head, flashing a grateful smile at her.
What surprised him slightly was that as the class progressed, Han Xiaoyun made no attempt to make things difficult for him. Although her gaze still swept over his direction from time to time, she never asked him another question.
Duanmu Ci nodded, left the suitcases there, and took Akishinomiya to get something to eat along with Weiyue.
"We are not lovers. Mother, don't you have anything else to do this morning?" Ling Feng retorted while combing Xue Qing’s hair.
He sprinted away, intercepted the fleet, and gave a few instructions. Liu Jing, along with a dozen soldiers and Li Yan, boarded the ships, and the fleet drifted downriver, slowly heading east.
