Chapter 153: Gu Ting Has Arrived
"Qingqing, why are you dressed so lightly?" Gu Ting walked over quickly, took Shen Qing's hand, and cast a sidelong glance at Lu Xuanyou.
The girl’s hand felt slightly cool. Gu Ting’s eyes narrowed, and he tucked both of Shen Qing’s hands into the side pockets of his trench coat.
The motion was fluid and seamless, executed in one go!
Shen Qing was stunned for two seconds. She looked up at Gu Ting, who offered a gentle smile. His long, narrow phoenix eyes crinkled, and he leaned down, whispering against her ear, "This way, you won't be cold anymore."
His warm breath brushed against Shen Qing's neck, leaving her feeling tingly and numb.
Shen Qing narrowed her eyes and was about to pull her hands out, but the next second, they were gripped tightly by his large hand.
"Don't move," Gu Ting said, his voice low and rich.
Lu Xuanyou was standing right beside them. From his angle, it looked as if Shen Qing were entirely enveloped in the man's embrace, appearing intimate.
"Qingqing, who is he?" Lu Xuanyou looked at Gu Ting. His voice remained gentle, but his eyes were as cold as ice.
Gu Ting looked back at Lu Xuanyou, his handsome eyes squinting with clear provocation. He said nonchalantly, "Me? I’m Qingqing’s hand warmer."
Hearing this, Shen Qing looked up and stared at him gloomily.
Gu Ting felt a chill run down his spine under her gaze. A flicker of wit flashed in his eyes, and after casting a glance at Lu Xuanyou, he lowered his head to whisper to Shen Qing, "The Drunken Fragrant Chicken is ready. Shall we go eat it now?"
Shen Qing paused, her eyebrows arching slightly. "Hmm."
Lu Xuanyou’s expression darkened. He looked at Shen Qing and spoke helplessly, "Qingqing."
"I'm just going the same way as him." Shen Qing glanced at Lu Xuanyou. The short sentence made her stance and reasons clear.
Gu Ting curled his lips. Shen Qing’s hands had already been pulled from his pockets. He took her hand and called her name with a smile, "Qingqing, let's go."
Watching the two walk away, Lu Xuanyou remained standing in place, motionless for a long time.
Several minutes later, his assistant stepped out of the car. "Boss, are we not leaving yet?"
Lu Xuanyou raised a hand to rub his brow, his eyes lowered, his emotions unreadable.
Gu Ting’s car was right in front—a black Rolls-Royce.
"Is he your senior brother?" Gu Ting asked after getting into the car.
Once Shen Qing fastened her seatbelt, Gu Ting quickly unwrapped a candy and held it to her lips.
Shen Qing hesitated, then took the candy with her hand. "Yes."
Gu Ting lowered his gaze and said nothing more.
They soon arrived at the hotel. Gu Ting had also booked a presidential suite on the same floor as Shen Qing.
"What a coincidence," Gu Ting said as he followed Shen Qing out of the elevator, gesturing toward his own door. "The Drunken Fragrant Chicken is in my room."
Shen Qing turned to look at him; the man’s eyes were brimming with a smile.
"Oh." Still speaking in her usual cool, indifferent tone, Shen Qing walked over first and waited by the door for Gu Ting to open it.
"Come in, kiddo." Gu Ting opened the door and gave Shen Qing a light tap on the back, nudging her inside.
The layout of the room was identical to hers, featuring a large living room with a box sitting on the coffee table in the center.
Shen Qing sniffed the air. It was the scent of the Drunken Fragrant Chicken, seemingly mingled with other aromas.
Gu Ting smiled as he watched the girl, then took her hand and led her into the nearest bathroom. "Wash your hands first."
"Oh." Shen Qing looked down at the hand holding hers, then turned to glance at the chicken on the coffee table.
After washing up, Gu Ting put on gloves, tore into the chicken, and served the two drumsticks to Shen Qing first, followed by the meat from the chicken breast, which he placed on her plate.
After finishing a drumstick, Shen Qing looked up at Gu Ting. The man was gnawing on the bones, appearing to enjoy it quite a bit.
"Hmm? Is it not good?" Gu Ting asked with concern when he saw her stop.
"It's fine. You just look quite pitiful eating like that." Shen Qing glanced at her own plate, which was piled with meat.
Gu Ting put down the bone and asked with a smile, "Then, are you going to give me some of your meat?"
"In your dreams." Shen Qing gave him a gloomy look and went back to eating.
Gu Ting’s lips curved into a smile.
After they finished the meal, Gu Ting poured Shen Qing a cup of tea to cleanse her palate.
"Why don't you stay here to sleep tonight?"
"No." Shen Qing refused without a second thought.
Gu Ting paused and rubbed his nose. "Alright then, sit for a while. I’m going to clean up."
Shen Qing gave a soft "hmm" and scanned the room, her eyes landing on a small bronze burner resting on the bookshelf against the wall.
