Chapter 51 Old Xie: Which Rascal Kicked Me Out of the Group Chat?
As the clock neared half past twelve, Gu Ting shut his computer, glanced at the girl sleeping sweetly, and walked over quietly.
Her features were exquisite, and in sleep, her face matched her age, holding none of that deep-seated ferocity—she looked irresistibly endearing.
Shen Qing was a light sleeper. Sensing someone approach, she snapped her eyes open, flashes of hostility gleaming within. Gu Ting’s gaze sharpened slightly as he caught her swinging fist with precision. He braced his other hand on the chair beside her, his voice low and husky, “Is this how it goes—turning on me as soon as you wake?”
Shen Qing’s fox-like eyes narrowed, gradually regaining clarity. “Let go.”
“I bought some—” Gu Eleven walked in carrying boxed meals, only to find Gu Ting leaning over Shen Qing, the two of them clasping hands…
Stunned!
Gu Eleven was petrified on the spot!
Gu Ting released Shen Qing’s hand, straightened up, and turned to glance at him, his expression tinged with displeasure.
Eleven swallowed nervously, pointed toward the door, and stammered, “I—I didn’t see anything, really. It’s just… the door wasn’t locked, so when I pushed it open… You two carry on.”
He hurriedly set the food on the table and slunk out in embarrassment.
Shen Qing climbed down from the sleep chair and kicked at the stool. “Did you find that amusing?”
Gu Ting rubbed his nose, feigning ignorance. “Hmm?”
She shot him a look but said nothing, heading for the door.
“Stay and eat,” Gu Ting stepped forward, pressing his hand against the door she was about to open.
When she didn’t move, he added, “The food is from Xi Lou.”
Shen Qing arched a brow, her gaze toward Gu Ting softening a little.
“Alright.” She sat at the table, opened the meal box, and the aroma of the dishes wafted out.
Gu Ting smiled silently as he watched her, then sat beside her to share the meal.
After eating, Shen Qing glanced at her phone. Her QQ messages had exploded—Xiao Pang and the others hadn’t seen her all morning and were nearly frantic by now.
She sent a message to Yao Panpan and began playing a game.
Her match was tomorrow; there was no rush.
Gu Ting glanced at Shen Qing, who was sprawled out like a young master playing her game, and smiled indulgently before starting to clear away the leftovers.
Shen Qing looked up at him—how rare to see a privileged young lord from the capital personally cleaning up.
…
Yao Panpan finally received a message from Shen Qing.
“Hurry over! Qing-jie just replied!” she called.
“What did she say?” someone asked.
Yao Panpan read the message word for word, “I’ll show up for the competition. Don’t bother me unless it’s urgent.”
“That’s it?” Xiao Pang slumped over the desk, disheartened.
Zhu Qian timidly walked to the back of the classroom, stood beside Yao Panpan, and whispered, “Should I still remind Qing-jie?”
To prevent athletes from missing their events, Xie Mingming had asked the support staff to remind them before each match.
Chu Yu frowned, thought for a moment, and said, “No need. If Qing-jie says she’ll come, she won’t miss it.”
Seeing Chu Yu’s confidence, Yao Panpan nodded in agreement. “Yeah, Qing-jie always keeps her word.”
Besides, they were all a little afraid of upsetting her—none of them could handle her temper.
Zhu Qian nodded and returned to her seat.
…
Shen Qing only had three events, always arriving just in time, and, unsurprisingly, always taking first place.
Especially after finishing the fifteen-hundred-meter race, she wasn’t even out of breath. Zhu Qian looked around at the exhausted athletes collapsed on the ground, yet their class’s Qing-jie was already striding off for a nap.
Truly worthy of being the top dog at No. 1 High!
“Class monitor, I feel a bit unnecessary,” she said to Yao Panpan, holding the unopened bottle of water she’d brought for Shen Qing.
Yao Panpan patted her shoulder. “Forget it, you don’t need to follow Qing-jie anymore. Go write a cheer article instead.”
…
Three days passed—not too quickly nor too slowly—and at the closing ceremony of the sports meet, the results were announced.
Class Three of Senior Year Three ranked first in the school overall, thanks especially to Shen Qing, who took three first-place medals in a row. As the class advisor, Xie Mingming was bursting with pride.
Lively and energetic as Shen Qing was, even if her academic performance wasn’t stellar, she could pursue a special talent track in sports—perhaps she might even become a national athlete one day!
With this plan in mind, Xie Mingming wanted to speak to Shen Qing and guide her thinking, but the girl was nowhere to be found.
“Yao Panpan, where’s Shen Qing?”
As soon as the ceremony ended, Xie Mingming pulled Yao Panpan over to ask.
“No idea, she probably left early,” Yao Panpan replied with a shake of her head. It wasn’t the first time Qing-jie had left before the end.
“Alright, never mind… Wait, one more thing.” Xie Mingming stopped her again.
Yao Panpan looked puzzled as Xie Mingming spoke slowly.
“With the National Day holiday tomorrow, remind the class to prepare for the next monthly exam. Also, help me find out—who uses the online name ‘Liuli Shang i’?”
Yao Panpan blinked, her eyes round with innocence. “Why do you want to find her, Teacher?”
Xie Mingming sneered coldly. “That little brat kicked me out of the class group chat. Oh, and remember to add me back in.”
“Yes… yes, ma’am.”
As soon as Xie Mingming left, Yao Panpan pulled out her phone and posted in the class group chat.
[Liuli Shang i: The National Day holiday is coming up, so we’ll have to add Teacher Xie back soon. Everyone, enjoy yourselves while you can…]
