“Cai Weisong, you call yourself a teacher? I don’t believe you—there’s no way you can do whatever you please!”

Su Ye massaged his numb arm, fully aware that Cai Weisong had long wanted to expel him from the school. Judging by today’s events, there would be no easy end to this matter.

Many other students, having overheard Cai Weisong's threat to expel Su Ye, erupted into turmoil.

In their spirit cultivation school, student fights were common, but punishments tended to be educational rather than punitive. This was the first time they’d encountered a teacher like Cai Weisong, who, without even asking for the reason, demanded expulsion.

“Mentor Cai, it was Jin Canjie who started it—Su Ye only fought back!”

“That’s right! That guy was rude and even harassed Jiang Liuying in front of everyone. He’s disgusting! This isn’t just a breach of discipline—it’s outright harassment. We all saw it. Someone should call the police!”

A chorus of chaotic voices rose all around, though none could be clearly heard over the din.

Cai Weisong, furious, bellowed at the students, “Silence! Do you know where you are? Those who have finished their tests, leave the martial hall at once. Those who haven’t, hurry up! This is none of your business. Anyone who stirs up trouble will be expelled as well!”

The threat was effective. While the students feared little, the prospect of being expelled after three years of hard work terrified them—how would they explain it to their parents?

At Cai Weisong’s warning, the hall fell silent. Many, not wanting trouble, left immediately.

A short-haired instructor from another school anxiously examined Jin Canjie’s injuries. After a while, his face contorted in anger as he shouted, “Well done, Yangcheng First High! This won’t end here! So many schools were invited by you, and this is how your students treat us? Jin Canjie is one of our top three seeded contestants. You’re despicable, resorting to such tricks to harm us. Utterly shameless!”

The other visiting instructors and gifted students from outside schools were shocked by his words, as if they suddenly believed it must be true.

The director of academic affairs, hearing this, turned pale and hurriedly urged Cai Weisong to handle the situation at once.

Cai Weisong’s expression changed drastically. Bowing, he apologized, “We are truly sorry. Rest assured, we have the best school doctor—Jin Canjie will be fit to compete tomorrow. We’ve already investigated. The culprit is this rotten apple! We will deal with him severely!”

Standing on the second floor, Yu Wenhuan’s eyes flickered with shock. Though his sister, Yu Zhisha, had yet to react, he knew that Su Ye had changed—he had returned to being the genius he once was.

Even one of the top seven contenders, Jin Canjie, had been beaten like this by Su Ye. If Su Ye were to face his sister Yu Zhisha, what would happen?

“No. Absolutely not. He must be expelled at once!”

Gritting his teeth, his gaze turned ruthless as it swept over Su Ye. He quickly walked over to Cai Weisong and whispered a few words in his ear.

Cai Weisong hesitated for a moment, but after glancing back at Jiang Liuying, his resolve hardened. “Very well—the leadership will hold a brief meeting to discuss the outcome.”

But the so-called meeting lasted barely a few minutes before Cai Weisong returned, holding a withdrawal order.

It bore a red seal—clearly approved by the school authorities.

Cai Weisong snorted and announced loudly, “Su Ye, you have repeatedly flouted discipline, instigated fights, and ignored your mentors’ guidance. Today, you disregarded the spirit of camaraderie between schools and deliberately targeted foreign exchange student Jin Canjie. This grave incident has caused serious repercussions! Therefore, the school has decided to expel you, Su Ye, with immediate effect!”

A wave of commotion swept through the hall.

No one had expected that the day would end with Su Ye’s expulsion.

Su Ye’s head buzzed. If not for the official seal, he wouldn’t have believed it. He swept a cold gaze over the teachers and students present, and said in a low, steady voice:

“A foreign exchange student harasses a girl from our school right in front of everyone! None of you care about that, only about him! If you’re going to target me, at least ask how Jiang Liuying is! Very well—”

His chest heaved with rage. Suddenly, his gaze locked onto Yu Zhisha, standing proudly on the second floor.

This celebrated Azure Sparrow of Yangcheng still exuded her usual pride, her attire immaculate, gazing down on him as if from on high.

“The Yu family—your despicable methods are unchanged!”

Yu Wenhuan immediately cursed him, “What are you still rambling for? You’ve been expelled. Get lost already!”

“That’s right! You started the fight and still think you’re in the right? No wonder people abroad criticize our nation’s character—it’s people like him who tarnish our reputation, hurting others and never showing remorse!” Song Dahai gloated.

Jiang Chengzhi, too, seized the chance to mock, “So what if someone’s pursuing a girl? Jin Canjie admires Jiang Liuying, that’s why he chased her! Hmph, don’t pretend to be pure and innocent. Su Ye kissed you in front of everyone, yet you still act like a saint? Look at her, wearing such a short skirt—clearly trying to attract attention. If something ever happens to her, she’ll have only herself to blame!”

Su Ye’s fists clenched so tightly his knuckles cracked. He wanted to rush up and smash their faces, but he knew every mentor here was stronger than him.

“Yangcheng First High, I once won you the reputation as the city’s top genius, but now that you have Yu Zhisha, you cast me aside like a spent arrow!”

None of the teachers answered. Many blushed with shame and lowered their heads.

Su Ye gritted his teeth, sweeping his cold gaze over the other students. Every single one kept their head down, indifferent.

No one would speak for him, or for Jiang Liuying.

Everyone knew the situation was clear. How could Su Ye alone stand against so many schools and powerful families? If he was to blame, it was for being so foolish as to challenge the Yu family.

Finally, Su Ye’s gaze returned to Yu Zhisha. Outwardly, she seemed uninvolved, but he knew she was the mastermind, orchestrating everything from behind the scenes.

He raised his voice, “Yu Zhisha, you’re truly cunning!”

Yu Zhisha smiled coldly, as if looking at a clown. “You and I,” she said in a low voice, “already belong to different worlds. So what if you’ve broken through? You’re not even worthy to be my opponent.”

“You can run for a while, but not forever! I’ll be your nightmare until the end of your days!”

Su Ye wanted to say more, but in the distance, Jiang Liuying was about to faint, and several girls screamed in alarm.

Ignoring everything else, Su Ye rushed forward and scooped the weakened Jiang Liuying into his arms, carrying her out of the school. He needed to get her home as soon as possible—she was in no condition to stand, let alone compete.

But Jiang Liuying, only half-conscious, whispered weakly, “Don’t take me home. The steward will bring healing pills soon. I have a match this afternoon—I can’t leave.”

Su Ye, exasperated, said, “Have you seen yourself? Are you trying to get yourself killed? Forget the match!”

Jiang Liuying’s eyes were unfocused as she murmured, “No, I have to compete! They expelled you, but I’m still here! Don’t forget, my cultivation is higher than yours. I even took the Azure Thunder Cleansing Pill you gave me. Most importantly, the Jiang family has already lost you—I can’t go as well! If I leave, who will stand up to Yu Zhisha and keep the Yu family from dominating Yangcheng?”

Su Ye’s mind reeled as a suffocating sense of frustration surged through him. He truly didn’t know if he had done the right thing.

He had stepped in when Jiang Liuying was bullied—if he hadn’t, could he call himself a man? Would he not have let the Jiang family down?

Yet, from Jiang Liuying’s perspective, she endured every humiliation in silence, knowing the entire Jiang family hoped Su Ye could challenge Yu Zhisha and prevent the Yu family from ruling over Yangcheng.

Now that Su Ye was expelled, no matter how difficult it was, she had to hold on alone.

Looking at her frail figure, Su Ye realized for the first time that this seemingly delicate and willful girl was, deep down, ready to shoulder the burden of the whole Jiang family.

In contrast, there was nothing he could do.

When the steward arrived at the school with Little Die, Su Ye, filled with guilt, slowly made his way toward the school gates, leaving behind Yangcheng First High, where he had studied for six years.

As he stepped outside the gates, his phone suddenly rang. Glancing down, he saw it was Ning Shuang.

He had no desire to answer, so he hung up at once.

Moments later, Ning Shuang sent a message:

“I heard you got expelled? Heh. Want me to help you?”
