Chapter Five: Let Me Teach You What It Means to Be a Man
“This Jiang Chengzhi actually followed me here!” Su Ye was somewhat surprised. He had been here for several hours now, and yet this Young Master Jiang still refused to let him go.
But things were different now. He was no longer the useless, powerless weakling he once was. Back then, Jiang Chengzhi would sneer and mock him at every opportunity. If it weren’t for the Jiang family’s protection, he would have been bullied beyond endurance.
Su Ye patted Ning Shuang, signaling her to get off him, then quickly found a place to hide.
The group consisted of eleven people in total, all of whom appeared to be martial artists who had broken through their acupoints.
In contemporary China, the practice of acupoint breaking had become widespread—at least half the population had managed to break through one or two acupoints, improving their physique. But most only managed one or two, merely strengthening their bodies.
"I need to find a way to get Jiang Chengzhi alone," Su Ye thought. In his current exhausted state, even the power he relied on—his Thunder Source—was almost depleted. Facing Jiang Chengzhi alone would be risky, since Jiang ranked among the top thousand on the school's acupoint-breaking leaderboard, with nineteen acupoints opened. He was a figure of some renown on campus.
Challenging all eleven by himself? He stood no chance.
“Hey, little guy! Did you offend Hong Can and his crew?” Ning Shuang asked, watching with interest. She used the car headlights to look over, and with each glance spotted Hong Ge among them.
“You know Jiang Chengzhi and his group?” Su Ye asked quickly.
“I don’t know that one, but the leader over there is called Hong Ge—just a petty thug. Last time I was invited to consecrate a statue of Lord Guan for a big shot, he kept jabbering beside me until I slapped him twice and he learned his lesson,” Ning Shuang said, her lips curling as if it were a trifling matter.
“Oh? I didn’t expect you to be so capable,” Su Ye mused, scanning her from head to toe.
Ning Shuang was accustomed to that gaze and intentionally pushed out her proud curves, saying, “Of course! I have plenty of skills. What, do you want Sister Shuang to help you out? But I have conditions—you have to come with me somewhere. Don’t worry, I won’t sell you off.”
“Alright! I’ll leave it to you!” Su Ye replied without hesitation. He was eager for revenge—none of that ‘gentleman’s revenge, never too late in ten years’ nonsense. With power, revenge should be swift, never letting the enemy enjoy another good day.
After exchanging a few words, Su Ye stepped out from his hiding place.
Jiang Chengzhi, sharp-eyed, immediately spotted him and shouted viciously, “Over there! That’s him!”
“Damn it, you brat! Because of you, my car got impounded! Where did you run off to?” Hong Can snarled as he rushed over. His modified car was his pride, and to his shock, chasing after Su Ye led to getting caught by traffic police—he would make Su Ye pay for it!
The thugs around Hong Can, experienced as they were, spread out and began to encircle Su Ye, making sure he couldn’t escape.
“Do I need to run from a bunch of punks like you?” Su Ye said in a low voice.
Jiang Chengzhi exclaimed in surprise, “Oh? The worthless dog finally grew a backbone? You used to crawl like a dead dog, now you dare shout at us! Hmph! You dare chase after the woman I fancy? Do you even know who you are? Beat him!”
Jiang Chengzhi’s expression was vicious. Though Jiang Liuying hadn’t accepted him, he had already claimed her as his own. As long as no other man dared pursue her, the beauty would ultimately be his.
At that moment, Ning Shuang stepped out from behind a stone.
“Wow, bullying with numbers, are we?” Her voluptuous charm immediately drew everyone’s attention as she spoke.
A thug, dissatisfied with the lighting, shone his phone’s flashlight directly onto Ning Shuang’s face. The dimness before had only hinted at her beauty, but now it was revealed in detail—a woman about twenty-five, matured into a ripe peach, as if her allure carried a subtle fragrance.
Jiang Chengzhi paused, gritting his teeth. “Damn! Not bad, you dog, enjoying yourself—where’d you find this wild chick?”
Ning Shuang’s face instantly turned cold. She strode forward and shouted, “Didn’t your mother teach you any manners? You have a filthy mouth!”
With that, she suddenly accelerated, leaping into the air and kicking Jiang Chengzhi squarely in the jaw. Although Jiang had practiced martial arts, he was no match for Ning Shuang and failed to dodge, crashing heavily to the ground.
Hong Can instinctively rushed to help, but Ning Shuang was faster. Clenching her fist, it emitted a resonant hum—a sound only produced by those who had broken through fifty blood acupoints.
Bang!
Her punch landed on Hong Can’s chest, sending him reeling ten meters backward.
“Hong Can, you blind dog, how dare you raise a hand to me!” Ning Shuang shouted.
Hong Can had found Ning Shuang familiar, and now recognized her, his face turning pale. He hurriedly called off his men: “It’s—it’s Sister Shuang! Sister Shuang, sorry, sorry, my eyes must be blind! I couldn’t see clearly!”
He slapped himself twice, grinning apologetically.
Everyone nearby stared in astonishment—what had just happened?
Jiang Chengzhi crawled up, clutching his jaw, his speech slurred. “Hong Ge, what are you doing? Fight them!”
“Fight your damned self! You have a foul mouth, dared insult Sister Shuang! Are you trying to die?” Hong Can was genuinely terrified. Those in the underworld tended to believe in the supernatural—after all their misdeeds, strange happenings were not uncommon.
Especially after witnessing Ning Shuang’s abilities last time, he knew that if she ever turned her skills on him, he’d be finished.
More importantly, even their boss treated Ning Shuang with utmost respect—how could he afford to offend her?
Su Ye, meanwhile, showed no mercy. He shoved aside a pale-faced thug and snatched the golf club from his hands, weighing it for a moment. “Jiang Chengzhi, you really want me in the hospital, don’t you? I’ll grant your wish!”
“Su Ye, what are you doing? I—I was just joking with you, I never touched you!” Jiang Chengzhi stammered, retreating in terror.
“Hmph, now you call it a joke?” Su Ye wouldn’t let him off easily. He stepped forward and struck Jiang Chengzhi with the club.
Bang!
The club bent with the force of the blow.
Still unsatisfied, Su Ye delivered several more strikes, then grabbed Jiang Chengzhi by the collar and slapped him twice, leaving palm prints on both cheeks.
“You think just because your family has money you can bully everyone? You really think no one will dare do anything to you? You treat Jiang Liuying as your possession, forbidding any man from even speaking to her. Who do you think you are?”
Smack—
Su Ye delivered another fierce slap, knocking out two of Jiang Chengzhi’s teeth, leaving him trembling.
Finally, Su Ye vented his anger, kicking Jiang Chengzhi to the ground and barking, “Remember, if I can slap you once, I can slap you again! Keep your head down from now on! Get lost!”
“Yes, yes! Brother Su, I understand!” Jiang Chengzhi mumbled, limping away.
“Uh, Sister Shuang, we won’t disturb you. We’re leaving now!” Hong Can and his crew, not daring to linger, hurried to their cars and sped off.
Ning Shuang looked at Su Ye in surprise, then laughed, “I didn’t expect you to be so ruthless! But now that you’ve taught him a lesson, you might have trouble later. Have you thought about what to do?”
“No worries! They’re just small fries. If they dare come again, I won’t let them off so easily!” Su Ye replied confidently. He could now train by listening to thunder.
With a bit more time, he’d no longer have to regard Young Master Jiang as anything worth his concern.
As he spoke, he clenched his fists in secret, remembering that Yu Zhisha, the exchange student, would soon return. In his heart, he made a silent vow: “Yu Zhisha, you won’t believe it! Three years have passed! You stole nine thunder meridians from me—this time, I’ll take them all back! The Yu family’s reckoning is coming!”
