Chapter 85: The World Spins and Heaven Turns as the Dragon Returns to His Throne
Bang!
Su Ye unleashed a ruthless palm strike at Ouyang Man, a blast of energy instantly surging around him, whipping up clouds of dust from the ground. At this point, he had no other options left; he had to take Ouyang Man down first.
"Just a mad dog—do you think you’re worthy to bark in my presence?" Ouyang Man showed not the slightest fear. Anger flashed in her eyes as a cold gleam shimmered in her hand—she gripped a slender iron spike and lunged straight at him.
This was an unusual weapon, no thicker than a finger, resembling a slender sword but sharp as a long spike. Her attack was swift and vicious, the angle cunning and unpredictable.
Su Ye hadn’t expected Ouyang Man to be armed with such a weapon. He twisted aside, narrowly dodging the spike, but before he could strike again, agony ripped through his palm where her weapon grazed him.
With a hiss, Ouyang Man withdrew the bloodied spike, looking at Su Ye with smug satisfaction. “How do you like it? This fine weapon was crafted especially for you—designed to counter your Thunder Meridian technique!”
Su Ye steadied himself, suddenly noticing that all the surrounding warriors were holding similar spikes. His Thunder Meridian technique, so forceful and bold, was ill-suited to defend against such delicate, piercing weapons.
“So, you came prepared all along! You really think you can kill me this way?” Su Ye said coolly, masking his calculations with a calm facade.
Ouyang Man saw that the wealthy guests had nearly all fled, and her people now surrounded them. She no longer bothered to conceal her intentions, smiling coldly, “If not for your meddling, the position of Young Alliance Master would soon be changing hands. You fool, siding with him and ruining my plans—I’ll have your life!”
As she spoke, rows of fighters stood behind her, clearly having discerned Su Ye’s intent to “capture the leader first.” Even Shi Hao and Yin Chao were among them.
“Kid, we recognize your talent. If you’re willing to follow Sister Man, now’s your chance,” Shi Hao suddenly threatened and cajoled.
Yin Chao added in an icy tone, “That’s right. If you want to prove yourself, go capture Ouyang Yunfeng. But if you insist on courting death, don’t blame us for what happens!”
Su Ye glanced back and saw Ouyang Yunfeng beset by several elders attacking in unison. The old woman Wen, whose background was unclear, fought with shocking ferocity—she alone was enough to contain Ouyang Yunfeng.
“As the saying goes: men of different paths cannot work together! If I ever consorted with the likes of you, even the heavens would not permit it!” Su Ye suddenly channeled the power of heavenly thunder through his body, sweeping his hand through the air.
With a rush, a tornado formed at once!
“Winds rise, clouds surge! Lightning splits, thunder roars!”
All the enemies recoiled in terror—Su Ye had used this very tornado technique to kill Yu Xingkun before. Was he about to unleash that terrifying move again?
Even Ouyang Man shouted, “Be careful—don’t get caught in it!”
The surrounding warriors scattered in alarm.
“A bunch of clowns, nothing more!” Su Ye roared, his form turning sharply, a colossal tornado swirling around him, crackling with flashes of lightning.
He spun his hands again, as though commanding the tornado, then abruptly hurled it toward Ouyang Yunfeng’s direction.
Boom!
The tornado swept forward as if it were solid, barreling toward its target—Old Woman Wen.
“Attack!” Ouyang Man shouted, charging at Su Ye.
Even the two alchemists from Yidan Residence now attacked Su Ye, clearly regarding him as a grave threat.
“You still dare to run wild in Yidan Residence? Let’s see how long you can last!” one of the alchemists with blazing red hair unleashed wave after wave of energy. As masters of the alchemical arts, they could see Su Ye was still badly wounded.
They also remembered the tornado technique Su Ye used against Yu Xingkun—at its most terrifying, it had swelled to ten meters tall, and even when unleashed, it was at least seven or eight meters high. But now, the tornado was only four or five meters, a clear sign that his thunder power was running low.
The tornado swept forth, engulfing Old Woman Wen in an instant.
“Thunder’s End—!”
From afar, Su Ye reached out, intent on tearing the old woman from the heart of the storm and slaying her. But before he could act, the alchemists’ attacks struck him head-on.
Bang!
Su Ye was blasted off his feet. Only then did he realize these ambushers were far more powerful than mere first or second level Qi Gatherers. Moreover, his easy victory over Yu Xingkun had been due to the resonance between their thunder meridians.
But the surrounding warriors and alchemists had no thunder meridians.
With this misstep, the tornado lost control and began to dissipate at once.
Su Ye leapt up from the ground, only to feel a cold glint stabbing toward the back of his head. Alarmed, he twisted and swept his hand behind him, sending out two surges of energy.
Both carried arcs of thunder, their power immense.
“You’re seeking death—!”
In a flash, Su Ye saw a spike thrusting at his throat. He dodged just in time, the sharp weapon grazing his neck as it passed.
Swish, swish, swish—
Su Ye retreated swiftly, still shaken, and to his surprise, it was Ouyang Man herself who had attacked.
“Your life is stubborn, I’ll give you that!” Ouyang Man was astonished that Su Ye had escaped her killing blow.
Meanwhile, the tornado, now too long without guidance, scattered with a thunderous crash.
“You little wretch—I won’t let you live!” With a shriek, Old Woman Wen burst from the dissipating tornado, her clothes in tatters, the few hairs she had nearly ripped out by the storm.
But her eyes now glimmered with a ruthless light. She flew at Su Ye, unleashing three savage strikes.
These moves were clearly ancient martial arts, and even Su Ye could barely defend against them.
Over a dozen of his acupoints were struck simultaneously, sending him flying once more.
“Kill him—!” Old Woman Wen flicked something from her hand, and it instantly embedded itself in Su Ye’s body.
Su Ye’s world spun, but he forced himself to shake it off, sweeping his gaze around to check if Jiang Liuying was safe—he had no desire to linger here.
“Su Ye, run!” Ouyang Yunfeng, unable to break free, shouted anxiously.
Su Ye had wanted to flee long ago, but he was surrounded on all sides. He couldn’t let himself be attacked from every direction, so he leapt toward the enormous first cauldron, back against the furnace, and continued to fight.
He had just knocked aside a few warriors when Old Woman Wen attacked again.
This time, she charged with incredible speed, aiming a vicious kick at his chest. Su Ye dodged, and the old woman’s kick struck the cauldron with a resounding thud, rocking it violently.
Grabbing the carved patterns on the cauldron, Su Ye launched two kicks at Old Woman Wen, but she blocked them both. He had no choice but to flip himself onto the top of the cauldron.
“Boy, with your thunder meridian, you’ll make a fine ingredient for my alchemy!” Old Woman Wen screeched, flipping up after him.
But Su Ye wouldn’t allow her to join him. Lightning arced from his palm as he struck her back down.
“You old hag, try coming up again!” Su Ye shouted furiously.
“Hmph! You’re courting death—you’ve only yourself to blame!” Old Woman Wen suddenly smiled coldly and slammed her hands against the patterns around the cauldron. With several sharp blows, the entire furnace began to shake.
Suddenly, a powerful suction force surged beneath Su Ye’s feet, his head spinning as he toppled into the belly of the cauldron.
