Chapter 26: Wind, Rain, Thunder, and Lightning
Peach Blossom Grove.
By the time Jun Wushuang arrived, night had already fallen.
Yet Jun Wushuang spotted Lin Mengyao at a glance.
She was tightly bound to a peach tree, her body battered and bruised, blood trickling from all seven orifices—a clear testament to the torture she had endured.
“Young master, you must leave, quickly!”
Weak as she was, Lin Mengyao snapped awake at the sight of Jun Wushuang, her voice urgent and desperate, unwilling to see him fall into the trap.
She would rather sacrifice herself than see him endangered because of her.
“Mengyao, I told you—whoever dares touch you, I’ll kill them.”
Jun Wushuang’s voice was chilling as he swept his gaze around.
“Xu Huanhu, come out and face your death!”
His roar thundered through the darkness like a vengeful spirit’s howl, shaking the very air and sending chills down one’s spine.
“To kill you, there’s no need for the city lord to act himself!”
A sharp, familiar voice rang out.
A masked man appeared behind Jun Wushuang.
It was Gale.
Gale was a master of movement, swift as the wind—though only at the sixth level of the Myriad Phenomena Realm, even those at the ninth could scarcely catch up to him.
“Jun Wushuang, I didn’t expect you’d really come courting death. Is this little maid your lover, perhaps?”
A cold, venomous female voice spoke.
A voluptuous and alluring woman emerged to Jun Wushuang’s left.
She was Storm.
A formidable seventh-level practitioner of the Myriad Phenomena Realm, adept in water techniques—cold and ruthless.
“Enough talk—let’s kill him quickly. I want to get back to my wine!”
A voice, deep as thunder, boomed.
A burly, towering man stepped out to Jun Wushuang’s right.
Thunderclap.
Another seventh-level powerhouse, his body as tough as iron, blessed with monstrous strength.
“No need to hurry. He’s already set foot in the trap—he’s not getting away. They call him the Jun clan’s true dragon; I want to see just how capable this so-called dragon really is!”
A small, thin man appeared before Jun Wushuang.
He toyed with a flying dagger in his hand, eyeing Jun Wushuang as a cat would a mouse.
Lightning.
A seventh-level master of the Myriad Phenomena Realm, an expert in hidden weapons, impossible to guard against.
The City Lord’s Mansion’s four great generals—Wind, Rain, Thunder, and Lightning—had all gathered, encircling Jun Wushuang.
Three at the seventh level, one at the sixth.
Such a lineup would leave even Ji Yuntian gravely wounded, if not dead.
After two failed attempts, Ji Yuntian was determined not to fail again.
So this time, he and Xu Huanhu joined forces, deploying their strongest fighters for the assassination.
Within the City Lord’s Mansion, aside from Xu Huanhu, these four were the mightiest.
For the four of them to join forces against a youth who had only just broken through to the Myriad Phenomena Realm was like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
“Let Xu Huanhu come out and face his death!” Jun Wushuang’s killing intent did not abate.
Though Wind, Rain, Thunder, and Lightning were strong, he did not regard them as true threats.
His target tonight was Xu Huanhu.
“Arrogant boy, even at death’s door you’re still so defiant. Let your big sister send you to hell!”
Storm was not only fiery in figure, but also in temper.
Jun Wushuang’s words infuriated her, and unable to restrain herself, she struck first.
“Mid-tier Profound Martial Art: Ten Thousand Serpents Devour the Heart!”
Holding nothing back and refusing to underestimate him, Storm unleashed her killing move from the start.
Her spiritual energy surged, condensing into hundreds of icy, sinister water serpents that lunged at Jun Wushuang from all directions.
These serpents were terrifying—bone-chilling and with a deadly constricting force. Once entangled, even an elephant would be slain in an instant.
With over a hundred of these serpents, it would be nigh impossible for Jun Wushuang to block them all.
The other three—Gale, Lightning, and Thunderclap—stood by, arms folded, merely watching.
To them, Jun Wushuang, at the first level of the Myriad Phenomena Realm, was insignificant.
Even if he was the “true dragon” of the Jun clan, possessed of extraordinary talent—
Talent is one thing, strength another. A genius who never grows strong is no genius at all.
Storm was six levels above Jun Wushuang; they did not believe she could lose.
The next instant, the spiritual water serpents were upon Jun Wushuang, ready to tear him to shreds.
“Innate Divine Power: Infernal Demonflame!”
A fierce light flashed in Jun Wushuang’s eyes as he unleashed his divine ability.
Pitch-black demonic flames erupted, coalescing into a hundred-meter-long black infernal serpent.
This was the innate technique of the Flame Serpent Spirit Body, now wielded with demonic energy by Jun Wushuang—its power enough to incinerate a mountain.
With a hiss, the demonic serpent surged forth. The spiritual water serpents, before its might, were like children before a giant—utterly incapable of resistance.
The water serpents evaporated, the energy dissipated.
Storm’s killing move was swept away with ease.
The infernal serpent pressed on, crossing dozens of meters in an instant, barreling straight at Storm.
“What kind of fire is this? It can actually burn my spiritual water serpents to ash!”
Storm’s face paled.
Her water serpents were not only nearly tangible, but also freezing cold—normal flames would be instantly snuffed out.
But this time, her attack was vaporized without resistance.
Unbelievable!
But the infernal serpent was nearly upon her. She had no time to ponder, and hastily drew a spirit sword from her storage ring.
“High-tier Profound Martial Art: Icy Viper’s Shadow Slash!”
Vast spiritual energy gathered on her sword, and she slashed.
The sword’s light and energy merged, forming a hundred-meter-long shadowy serpent of pure sword force.
It looked almost alive—as though it were a demon serpent that had absorbed a century’s worth of evil energy, capable of razing cities, terrifying beyond compare.
This was Storm’s most powerful strike.
Boom!
The infernal black serpent collided with the sword’s viper, shaking the heavens with its roar. Terrifying shockwaves tore through the grove, snapping peach trees like twigs—a scene of devastation.
Yet the sword viper could not withstand the infernal serpent.
With a mournful cry, the sword’s shadow fractured and crumbled, utterly destroyed.
The infernal serpent, its momentum unbroken, struck Storm squarely.
Crash!
She was hurled backward, blood spraying from her lips, her body scorched and charred—heavily wounded, she crashed to the ground.
“How…how is this possible?”
Gale, Thunderclap, and Lightning stared in shocked disbelief, their eyes wide.
Storm, at the seventh level of the Myriad Phenomena Realm, had been defeated by Jun Wushuang at the first level?
Monstrous!
In that instant, Jun Wushuang’s figure blurred and vanished.
“Not good!”
Gale’s face changed. He realized Jun Wushuang was about to finish off Storm, and immediately unleashed his martial technique, speeding forward at full power to stop him.
But Jun Wushuang moved even faster. Despite his desperate pursuit, Gale was still far behind.
In the stunned eyes of the others, Jun Wushuang reached Storm in a flash.
“If I go down, I’ll take you with me!”
Dragging her battered body, Storm resolved to fight to the death.
If she could just withstand this blow, the others would arrive in time, and she would be saved.
“The Asura Blade descends—gods and demons fall!”
Jun Wushuang gripped the Asura Demon Blade and slashed.
The dark red blade could cleave the sky asunder, extinguishing gods and devils alike.
Storm’s face contorted in terror as she tried to flee.
But it was too late—the blade flashed, blood sprayed.
Storm collapsed with a thud, her eyes still filled with confusion and fear.
In a single stroke, Storm was slain.
