Chapter 116: The Battle Reaches a Fever Pitch!

“Earthquake!” Nimo reacted swiftly.

“Roar!” The Gyarados furiously slammed the ground with its long, powerful tail. A thunderous rumble echoed as the battered battlefield trembled once more.

The incoming Tyrantrum lost its footing, its four paws sinking into the widening fissures. The shaking earth, carrying shockwaves, battered the beast’s body relentlessly.

“Howl!” Tyrantrum writhed in pain from the internal jolts.

“Charge out!” Su Yi clenched his fist and shouted.

Boom!

With great effort, Tyrantrum pulled its sharp claws free from the cracks and lunged forward, its massive form crashing through the air, biting fiercely with Thunder Fang.

Sizzle!

A move with quadruple effectiveness, even without same-type attack bonus and after being lowered one level by Intimidate, still dealt considerable damage.

“Roar!” Gyarados let out a pained growl, but the ferocity in its eyes only intensified.

“Fierce? Tyrantrum, clamp down! Use Dragon Claw!” Su Yi’s battle spirit soared.

Tyrantrum bit down relentlessly, its claws glowing as it summoned all its strength to slash upward and overpower its foe.

“Gyarados, counter with Ice Fang!”

Gyarados bared its chilling teeth, biting down on Tyrantrum’s nape.

Even the thick mane of Tyrantrum couldn’t block the penetrating bite; the biting cold seeped into its body, causing immense pain.

“The Pokémon on both sides have launched ferocious attacks—what a savage onslaught!” the commentator exclaimed excitedly as the two beasts became entangled in fierce combat.

Crack.

The spreading cold began to freeze Tyrantrum’s body.

“No wonder it’s called Tyrantrum,” Su Yi frowned deeply, rapidly devising a strategy.

Noticing Tyrantrum’s tail, a sudden inspiration struck him.

“Tyrantrum, use Dragon Tail to pull it back!” Su Yi commanded quickly.

“Howl!” Defying the biting cold, Tyrantrum swung its tail, shimmering with emerald-green scales, striking Gyarados.

“Freeze it quickly!” Nimo shouted.

Gyarados intensified the cold emanating from its Ice Fang, accelerating the freezing process.

Whoosh!

The slender tail formed and whipped fiercely.

Gyarados let out a reluctant roar as it was forced back into its Poké Ball, immediately replaced by Nimo’s next Pokémon.

Bang!

A dinosaur exuding icy air, with sword-like spines on its back, stood firm on the battlefield.

“An Ice-type Pokémon?” Su Yi was surprised.

“Nimo was forced to switch to her third Pokémon due to the Dragon Tail!” the announcer reported.

Crack!

Tyrantrum shattered the ice encasing its body, shaking off discomfort, while the frosty aura of the opponent Pokémon caused frost to form on the grass beneath.

“Heh heh~ Let me introduce you to my old friend, Aurorus! Use Snow Warning to create our home turf!” Nimo waved her hand.

“Sailor!” Aurorus’s body trembled, cold energy condensing into snowflakes, and snow began to fall from the sky.

“Roar!” Tyrantrum shifted restlessly, uncomfortable with the cold snow.

“Not damaging hail, but snowfall?” Su Yi wondered; this was a weather condition unfamiliar to him.

“Aurorus, use Icicle Spear!”

The Aurorus exhaled a blast of cold air skyward, instantly forming massive, sharp icicles that crashed down at Tyrantrum.

This felt like a single-target version of Glaceon’s Ice Shard.

“Break it with Dragon Claw!” Su Yi urged.

“Roar!” Tyrantrum braved the cold, rearing up to swing its claws.

Crack!

The Dragon Claws shattered the icicles, but the flying shards still dealt some damage.

“Dragon Dance!” Seizing the opportunity, Nimo had Aurorus boost its stats.

“Not on my watch! Charge with Dragon Claw!”

“Cancel Dragon Dance! Use Sacred Sword Strike!” Unexpectedly, Nimo altered her tactic.

Aurorus immediately ceased Dragon Dance, then flipped its body around, aiming its sword-like spines on its back at the charging Tyrantrum. Simultaneously, it unleashed a powerful breath, propelling itself forward.

“What kind of move is that?” Su Yi was stunned by Aurorus’s unusual attack style.

Usually, it was his partner Pokémon’s unique moves that threw opponents off guard.

But today, Nimo’s combination of Snow Warning and Sacred Sword Strike left Su Yi puzzled.

“Stop it!”

“Roar!” Tyrantrum raised its claws fiercely, slashing at the incoming Aurorus.

Bang!

Claws met sword spines; Tyrantrum’s charge halted as the two locked in a fierce struggle.

“Just a Sacred Sword Strike? Watch me push it back!” Su Yi shouted.

“Roar!!!” Tyrantrum bellowed, powering its muscular hind legs to step forward heavily.

Pushed back by Aurorus’s relentless cold blasts, it began to retreat.

“What tremendous strength! Aurorus is faltering under the forceful impact!” the commentator announced.

“Full power ahead!” Nimo clenched her fist.

Thud!

Aurorus surged again, matching Tyrantrum blow for blow.

Meanwhile, the ground beneath Tyrantrum began to crack under the strain.

Boom!

Rocks scattered as Tyrantrum growled low and backed off, while Aurorus landed firmly on the ground.

“Still, the Intimidate lowering physical attack is why it couldn’t fully dominate,” Su Yi muttered.

Simple and crude abilities often proved most effective.

After taking multiple hits, Tyrantrum started panting; its limbs were injured from the earlier earthquake, preventing it from exerting full strength.

“Withdraw it!” Su Yi decisively recalled Tyrantrum.

“Is it time?” Nimo said.

“Tyrantrum! I’m counting on you!” Su Yi threw out a Poké Ball. As the light faded, a crimson beast appeared, its muscular frame terrifyingly fierce.

“Oh wow! Su Yi has sent out another Pokémon without data, and this one is even larger and more ferocious!” the commentator exclaimed.

“This kind of Pokémon…” Professor Oak stared intently at Tyrantrum, puzzled by its strange form.

“Howl!” Tyrantrum howled toward the sky. Hearing the commotion and sensing complex scents, it grew restless and agitated.

Su Yi stepped forward, placing his hand on Tyrantrum’s anxious head: “Tyrantrum, don’t panic. This is a stage without survival pressure, only the burning passion of giving it your all. Help me!”

Tyrantrum caught Su Yi’s scent and calmed down.

With a thunderous slap on the ground, it lowered six sharp claws on its forepaws, combining with four claws below to form ten razor-sharp talons, then roared fiercely with renewed fighting spirit.

“Let’s give it our all! Tyrantrum! Slash Claw!” Su Yi and Tyrantrum shouted in unison.

“Howl!” Tyrantrum sprinted forward.

“Icicle Spear barrage!” Having witnessed Tyrantrum’s ferocity, Nimo dared not be careless.

“Sailor!” Aurorus lifted its head, blasting ice to form thick icicles which then rained down on Tyrantrum.

“Nimo, you know this won’t stop Tyrantrum. Smash all obstacles!” Su Yi shouted.

“Howl!” Tyrantrum swung its slashing claws, tearing through the icicles one by one.

“Sacred Sword Strike!” Seeing that the icicles couldn’t hold it back, Nimo switched tactics.

“Grab it!” Su Yi prepared to seize the moment.

Bang!

Tyrantrum’s claws caught the charging Aurorus, halting its advance completely.

“Throw it away!”

With a low growl, Tyrantrum shifted Aurorus bit by bit, then fiercely hurled it aside.
