113 Adding Feet to a Snake
As always, I have three requests! Please vote, please recommend, and please add to your collection!
"Master, will this be enough?"
"It’s not over yet. Go soak in the small pool until the sun has completely set, then tell your men to help you back to your room to sleep. If you can sleep soundly until dawn, the cancer cells in your body will gradually disappear within seven days."
Wan Hailiu hurriedly complied, climbing into the small pool. "Master, the old banknotes I promised you are already prepared!"
"There’s no rush for that. Wait seven days, get checked at a hospital here in Tokyo to see if you’ve truly recovered, and then pay me," Yang Tang replied. After saying this, he stood up, wrapped himself in a towel, and left the private villa. Once back in his room, he found his phone and called He Jiani.
"Beep, beep, beep..."
After many rings, He Jiani finally picked up. Her voice was laced with tears from the start. "Tangtang, where are you? I’ve missed you so much."
Yang Tang feigned ignorance. "What happened? Where are you? I kept looking for you at the amusement park until three o’clock, and when I couldn't find you, I went to the police. Where are you now?"
"I... I’m at the American Embassy. Wuwuwu..."
"I’m coming over right now!" Yang Tang hung up. "Akui!"
"I'm here!" came the quick response through his earpiece.
"Old Wan is asleep. Arrange for someone to keep a close watch on him. Once the sun sets, move him to his bedroom. Remember, you must wait until the sun has set!" Yang Tang instructed. "Also, arrange a low-profile car for me. I need to get to the American Embassy."
"Understood, Master Yang!"
On the way to the embassy, Yang Tang notified Lawyer Mao and asked him to inform the two American lawyers about He Jiani’s situation.
As the Toyota entered the embassy district, before even reaching the American Embassy, Yang Tang noticed that the entrances to the various embassies were packed with crowds of people wailing and sobbing. Along the streets, there were numerous stretchers covered with white sheets. There was no need to ask; those were likely the corpses Yang Tang had mixed in with the living. If he had only brought in the living or the dead, some Japanese politicians might have found a way to gloss over the scene. Unfortunately, with the dead and the living mixed together, some people were likely facing a true dilemma of life and death.
Outside the gates of the American Embassy, Yang Tang found the crowd particularly dense. To avoid unnecessary trouble, the American side was uncharacteristically reasonable, allowing anyone who passed security to enter.
The Japanese were even more nervous about this policy than the Americans, terrified that something might go wrong at the American Embassy, which would mean more than just their "American daddy" would be crying.
Of course, none of this had anything to do with Yang Tang. After passing security, he quickly located He Jiani.
"Sister Jiani."
"Tangtang!"
He Jiani, who had been huddled miserably in a corner, saw Yang Tang and threw herself into his arms like a frightened puppy.
"Wuwuwu, I’ve had such a terrible time, Tangtang, wuwuwu..."
Yang Tang patted her back to comfort her. "Don't cry, don't cry. What exactly happened, Sister Jiani?"
"We got separated, so I thought I’d wait for you at the main entrance, but you never showed up. Instead, I ran into two scammers..."
"How did they scam you?" Yang Tang was actually quite curious about how those two women had managed to deceive her.
He Jiani pouted. "That’s not the point! The point is, I was almost... I was almost slaughtered like a pig! Wuwuwu..."
"Alright, alright. I heard about it on the way in. It seems there are bodies that have had their organs harvested. I believe that after such a major incident, the Tokyo government won't just sit idly by."
Yang Tang was right; even if the Tokyo government didn't want to deal with it, other countries would force them to.
After finally calming He Jiani down, Lawyer Mao and the two American lawyers arrived. The remaining paperwork was left to them. Yang Tang, taking advantage of this rare opportunity to be inside the American Embassy, took He Jiani by the arm and led her upstairs. "Sister Jiani, walk around and get some fresh air. You'll feel better."
"Oh."
He Jiani blushed as she was helped upstairs, feeling a bit embarrassed. Yang Tang, however, had no romantic awareness at the moment; he was busy looking around, carefully observing the embassy's decor.
Because her hair obscured her face, He Jiani didn't notice his wandering eyes. She stared out the window, trying to keep him from seeing her flushed cheeks. As luck would have it, her gaze drifted to the window of the adjacent French Embassy, where a man and a woman were passionately kissing.
"Yin-ning!"
He Jiani's face turned even redder, and she began to tremble slightly.
Yang Tang quickly sensed something was wrong. "What is it, Sister Jiani?"
Blushing, He Jiani didn't dare look at him. She turned her head away and whispered like a mosquito, "The window... of the embassy next door..."
Yang Tang looked over and chuckled. "It's just people kissing, Sister Jiani. You've been in America for so long..." He stopped abruptly. When he looked again, he caught a glimpse of three-quarters of the man's face. It was none other than Guihai Youde.
*Damn it, how did this guy escape Luda?*
*A Japanese man born in the United States, sneaking off to the French Embassy to flirt with a woman? There’s definitely something fishy going on!*
Having confirmed this, Yang Tang pretended to be casual as he pulled the curtains shut. "There, Sister Jiani, I've closed the curtains so you don't have to see outside."
"Thank you!"
"You're welcome."
At that moment, He Jiani finally gathered the courage to express something to Yang Tang, but the two American lawyers walked in at the worst possible time.
"Miss, all the paperwork is done. We can leave the embassy now."
"Also, we’ve reported to your mother, and she suggests you fly back to the United States immediately."
It was a very sound suggestion, but He Jiani immediately looked at Yang Tang, her bright eyes filled with reluctance.
Yang Tang answered somewhat nonsensically, "Don't worry, Sister Jiani. I'm here on a temporary tourist permit and will have to leave Tokyo soon anyway. If you feel like we didn't get enough time together, why not come back after my birthday in August when I have my official passport?"
"Okay, okay!"
He Jiani nodded hurriedly, essentially agreeing to her mother's suggestion. She ultimately left with the two American lawyers to the airport and flew back to the United States that very night.
On the street in the embassy district, Yang Tang—eyes glowing with the "Eagle Eye" ability, his golden target locked onto "Guihai Youde"—said to Lawyer Mao, "Old Mao, when is your flight?"
Lawyer Mao checked his watch. "In about three hours, the ten-thirty flight!"
"Could I ask you for a favor?"
"Go ahead."
"There’s a direct flight to Shanghai at one-thirty in the morning. Could you book a ticket for me under your name? I’ll settle the money with you later."
"No problem!" Lawyer Mao booked the ticket on his phone and forwarded the confirmation text to Yang Tang.
"Thanks, Old Mao. Once you're back in Shanghai, just send all the bills to my home address."
"Understood, Mr. Yang. I'll be heading off now. Goodbye!"
Watching Lawyer Mao get into a taxi, Yang Tang strolled outside the embassy district and got into Alai's car.
Alai was one of Wan Hailiu's subordinates and had been with "Old Wan" for years, so he understood why his boss was so polite to Yang Tang. Honestly, while Alai didn't believe in Yang Tang's "hocus-pocus," he did whatever Wan Hailiu told him to do, so he remained respectful toward Yang Tang.
"Alai, are there any high-rise buildings nearby?"
"Of course."
"Take me there."
Ten minutes later, Yang Tang dismissed Alai and his car at the entrance of the Jichuan Building.
Ten minutes after that, Yang Tang was standing on the roof of the Matsui Building, which was adjacent to the Jichuan Building.
By now, it was completely dark.
However, the giant neon advertisement on the roof of the Matsui Building was lit up, and the entire embassy district lay on the opposite side of that giant sign.
Yang Tang crouched on the railing behind the ad, muttering to himself, "I’m looking for Guihai Youde. If he’s out of my range, then he’s just lucky!" With that, he activated his Eagle Eye.
Scanning the area, the night sky was a deep blue, hanging over the embassy district. As luck would have it, a single golden speck appeared amidst the sea of blue. Yang Tang smiled slightly. "You kept me waiting long enough, but at least it wasn't for nothing." He pulled a large bag from his ring, took out a pistol, and swapped it with the "miracle medicine" glass cup that had been taking up a storage slot.
"Enhancement Level 2 Mode!"
Instantly, over a dozen crosshairs appeared on Yang Tang's retina, all jumping toward the golden target. If he waited for all the crosshairs to align perfectly, it would be too late.
*Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!* Yang Tang pulled the trigger.
Guihai Youde had just stepped out of the French Embassy and was about to get into his car when he felt a black shadow streak through the air. It split into several parts, striking his head and his internal organs. He was struck as if by lightning, frozen in place for about ten seconds before collapsing to the ground with a thud.
