Chapter 34: The Ultimate Makeover
Tonight, Li Ziyang was in an exceptionally good mood. He had just picked up a stunning girl at the bar—she looked no more than sixteen or seventeen, with a flawless face and figure, bold and uninhibited beyond her years. Gritting his teeth, he had shelled out for several bottles of expensive imported liquor, finally getting her so drunk she was completely unconscious.
A lascivious grin played about his lips as he wrapped his arm around the girl and headed for the exit.
Meanwhile, outside the bar, Li Ziyang’s Audi Q7 was undergoing a transformation unlike any it had seen before. Normally, the parking lot was watched over by security guards, but curiously, not one could be seen at this moment.
“Boss, isn’t that enough? You’ve really gone to town on it.” One of the lackeys patted the shoulder of a blond-haired youth.
Blondie inspected his handiwork with satisfaction. The Q7’s four wheels were gone, replaced with four black inner tubes stuffed underneath. Every window had been smashed, now covered with lewd yellow graffiti. The hood had vanished, and a battered wooden board sat in its place, piled with some foul-smelling yellow gunk.
“Not bad, very artistic. Let me get a picture—I want the big bosses to have a look later.” Blondie grinned, pulling out his phone.
“Boss, won’t we get in trouble for this? I mean, we don’t know Li Ziyang that well, but it’s a fact his dad’s some big shot in the government,” one of the underlings fretted at the scene’s sheer audacity.
“What are you afraid of?” Blondie shot him a glare. “Think about who we’re following now—a guy who’s said to be invulnerable, the stuff of legend, with iron skin and a golden aura. Stick with him and we’ll be living the good life, no more scraping by as nobodies. If he’s ever in a good mood and teaches us a trick or two, we could go out and brawl without a scratch! That’s why we need to do this first job right, got it?”
“Oh, I get it now. Maybe we should mess it up even more—make it so his own mom wouldn’t recognize it,” the lackey said, scratching his head as if he’d just seen the light.
Blondie checked his watch and waved his hand. “Do you even know who his mom is? Let’s get moving—Li Ziyang’s bound to come out soon.”
So, as Li Ziyang staggered out of the bar with the passed-out beauty in his arms, Blondie and his crew had already vanished without a trace. Li Ziyang glanced down at the lovely, youthful face resting on his chest, her curves accentuated even in her stupor. A heat flared below his belly, urging him to quicken his pace toward his car.
Within a minute, Li Ziyang found himself dumbfounded, standing in front of a Q7 with his license plate, unable to believe what he was seeing.
In the end, Li Ziyang could only accept the brutal reality, squatting on the ground in utter despair. Even though his father was a high-ranking official, it had taken no small effort to acquire that Audi Q7—and now it was ruined beyond repair. The pain in his heart was so sharp he even forgot about the beauty beside him, tossing her aside without a second thought.
The next day, Chen Erpao was in high spirits, feeling refreshed and content. Although he’d spent half the night being chased down the street, it had all been worth it: a luxurious ride, a beautiful woman, and a bouquet of flowers that had left Wang Xuemei elated and brought him even closer to his goal. It wasn’t the end yet, but he was almost there—only one last step remained.
After parking his Mercedes in the lot, he made his way past the girls’ dormitory, headed for the security office. There, a dazzling sight awaited him.
The four great beauties from the Nangong, Murong, Shangguan, and Sima families appeared together at the dorm entrance. Nangong Yu was icy and aloof, Murong Pei graceful and elegant, Shangguan Ying adorably charming, and Sima Hong radiated heroic vigor. The four of them seemed born to stand together, a force of attraction radiating outward from their group.
“Hey, isn’t that the smelly security guard from the other day?” Shangguan Ying suddenly exclaimed, as if discovering a new world, pointing straight at Chen Erpao.
Chen Erpao turned away, speechless, but a mischievous urge to tease her returned.
“Smelly? I don’t think so. Come over and check if you don’t believe me.”
Shangguan Ying shot him a scornful look. “I wouldn’t smell a stinky man like you, hmph.”
“Come on, little girl, be good. Big brother will buy you candy if you come over and take a sniff,” Chen Erpao grinned, adopting the classic look of someone luring a child.
Shangguan Ying planted her hands on her hips in fury, her chest heaving so vigorously that Chen Erpao could barely restrain himself from rushing over to catch her—he was genuinely concerned she’d hurt herself if something fell.
“I’m going to beat you so badly you won’t even recognize yourself next time you see a mirror!” Shangguan Ying roared, her petite frame deceptively agile. In a flash, she was in front of Chen Erpao, her delicate fists gusting with surprising force as she launched a flurry of blows.
With that one move, Chen Erpao could tell Shangguan Ying had some real training, and her basics were solid. But compared to ordinary people, she was only impressive by those standards—in his eyes, she still had a long way to go.
Chen Erpao chuckled, feigning surprise and fear, dodging her attacks in apparent panic. The harder Shangguan Ying struck, the more she missed, until she was left sweaty and breathless, while he stood unscathed.
“Wow, you scared me! Why are you so violent? No wonder nobody wants you,” Chen Erpao patted his chest in mock fright, but his next comment nearly made Shangguan Ying explode.
“If nobody wants you, I’ll sacrifice myself and take you in.”
Shangguan Ying clenched her fists again, itching to pummel him, but she was out of strength and could only glare at him.
At that moment, Nangong Yu, Murong Pei, and Sima Hong stepped up beside her. Murong Pei offered a gentle smile, a dazzling radiance that made Chen Erpao feel as if he’d been struck by lightning.
“Ying, he’s clearly just teasing you. Even if the four of us joined forces, we probably wouldn’t be his match. Playing the fool to hide his true strength, you know?” Murong Pei said lightly.
“Pei’s right, he’s no ordinary man. For all we know, he could be an agent from another faction, posing as a security guard to infiltrate the school. We should avoid unnecessary conflict,” Sima Hong added.
