Chapter 39: Professional Attire
After Chen Erpao stepped off the stage, Wang Xuemei immediately pressed her alluring red lips to his, offering a fragrant kiss.
"Erpao, you sing so well."
Chen Erpao smiled smugly; any man would be pleased to receive such praise from the woman he loved.
At that moment, Wang Xing flashed a sly grin, his expression revealing a knowing look.
Chen Erpao shot him a disdainful glance. He was upright and honorable—at least for now, a good man, his conduct impeccable, undisturbed by whatever Wang Xing imagined.
Next, Zhang Xiaoyu sang several more delightful songs in succession, making Chen Erpao feel the trip had been well worth it, especially that unforgettable embrace a while ago, which lingered sweetly in his memory.
It wasn't until the concert ended that the four of them left. By then, it was around eleven o'clock. Returning to Tuen Mun, they stopped outside Old Yang's food stall. Upon seeing Chen Erpao and his companions, Old Yang eagerly came out to greet them.
"It's Erpao! Come in, come in. This young lady must be your girlfriend!" Old Yang's sharp eyes instantly discerned Wang Xuemei and Chen Erpao's relationship. Wang Xuemei's pretty face flushed slightly as she called out, "Hello, Uncle."
"Uncle?" Chen Erpao was momentarily stunned, then burst into hearty laughter.
Old Yang immediately looked dissatisfied. "Sister-in-law, do I look that old? Call me Brother Yang, that's more like it."
Wang Xuemei smiled and quickly corrected herself, prompting Old Yang to beam brightly.
They chose a reasonably clean table outside and sat down. Suddenly, a cheerful shout rang out.
"Erpao, Xing!"
It was Huangmao, leading a group of his followers, calling out from afar.
"Hello, big brothers." Huangmao spoke respectfully, then turned and barked at his group, "Hurry up and greet the big brothers!"
Chen Erpao looked at the dozen or so people behind Huangmao; several were unfamiliar faces, likely new recruits.
"Big brothers, I've taken in some new brothers recently, and even got the right to oversee two entertainment venues. If it weren't for Hong Xing's crew suddenly pulling out of the area near Lingnan University, we low-level thugs would never have gotten such a chance." Huangmao laughed.
"Not bad—but the revolution is far from over. Keep working hard. There are over a dozen venues near Lingnan University; aim to take them all." Wang Xing spoke with the tone of a true boss, following Chen Erpao's example of taking the intellectual route. One could tell how much Huangmao admired his words.
"Yes, yes, Xing is absolutely right. With you two backing us, our territory will only grow larger. Here's the protection money collected this month; please divide it, big brothers."
With that, Huangmao produced a wad of cash, about twenty thousand.
Chen Erpao looked at him approvingly. Though Huangmao wasn't ideal material, with training he'd become a capable right-hand man.
He and Wang Xing exchanged glances, keeping only five thousand for themselves and letting Huangmao and his brothers split the rest.
It wasn't that Chen Erpao disliked money, but in this business, loyalty was essential and profit couldn't be ignored. Since it was their first time dividing the spoils, letting the brothers take a bigger share would ensure their loyalty in the future.
Huangmao, perceptive as ever, didn't linger and soon left with his group.
As soon as they departed, Wang Xuemei and Li Meili fixed their wide-eyed gaze on Chen Erpao and Wang Xing, demanding honest explanations with expressions that promised leniency for confession.
Chen Erpao shrugged helplessly. "Those guys just now—who knows why—they insisted on making Wang Xing and me their bosses. They went off to watch over venues to earn some money, then brought it to us to divide. We're the bosses now, so it's only right to help them split the cash. This five thousand is a labor fee!"
Wang Xing stared at Chen Erpao in awe. "Erpao, I can't believe you could come up with such a wild excuse. Truly admirable."
"Of course! Otherwise, how could I live up to the name Erpao?" Chen Erpao chuckled.
Wang Xuemei and Li Meili's disapproving looks grew even more intense, as if they might suddenly unleash some legendary martial arts move.
"What you two do outside is your business, as long as you don't do anything immoral," Li Meili said solemnly.
Wang Xuemei followed, "I trust Erpao."
Chen Erpao's expression became serious and resolute. "I, Chen Erpao, may not be a model citizen, but I'm certainly not a villain. Wang Xing and I both come from the army; we won't forget the nation's teachings."
"Exactly, Erpao. Even if we're barely considered members of the underworld now, we're still the good guys among them," Wang Xing added.
"The good guys in the underworld," the three of them laughed at Wang Xing. Strange phrases truly abound these days.
Their late-night meal lasted nearly an hour. Wang Xuemei, having finally attended her idol's concert, wore a joyful expression throughout. As for Chen Erpao, there was no telling how many people envied him for that embrace with Zhang Xiaoyu on stage.
Back home, perhaps from the alcohol, Chen Erpao felt a powerful surge of desire as he gazed at Wang Xuemei's alluring figure wrapped in her professional attire.
Wang Xuemei seemed to sense his heated gaze, her cheeks flushing instantly, making her even more captivating.
Chen Erpao pulled Wang Xuemei into his arms, displaying all the vigor of a man. His masculine scent enveloped her.
In an instant, their lips met. Chen Erpao drank deeply from her sweet mouth, his hands deftly unfastening the buttons on her outfit.
Soon, Wang Xuemei was clad only in lingerie, her proud figure on full display, her fair skin glowing enticingly.
Chen Erpao's broad lips traced down her neck to her chest, while his hands slowly slid her skirt away, revealing blue lace underwear.
He gently lifted Wang Xuemei, and together they fell onto the bed. In no time, they were facing each other in an intimate embrace.
