Chapter 132: Keep Her Here
Watching Wu Li like this, Wang Feiyan was both angry and resentful. He blatantly ignored her, and in her heart she cursed, “Wu Li, how dare you treat me like this? Once this is all over, just wait and see how I ruin your reputation and bring you down!”
Wu Li lowered his eyes, watching the woman leaning against him, her eyes darting nervously. He sneered inwardly; he would never so easily forget those who schemed against him.
The burly man stood with his arms crossed, eyeing Bai Fanhao and Mu Qingxi, who were surrounded by several people. He scoffed, “So what if her face is ruined? It’s no big deal. The scars on my face? Didn’t you cause those?”
Bai Fanhao grew increasingly confused. When had he ever disfigured the man’s face?
But the burly man’s words drew Mu Qingxi’s attention back. Her face was pale and cold, half-covered in blood. The blood was tinged with black, as if poisoned.
Suddenly turning around, Mu Qingxi startled the burly man, who exclaimed, “Good heavens! Who’s so ruthless? It’s really ruined!”
At first glance, the burly man had thought it was no big deal, but seeing it head-on terrified him—the blood itself was black.
Witnessing everything below, Wang Feiyan finally steeled herself and shouted fiercely, “Ha! If it’s already ruined, then it’s ruined! We’ve come this far, I have nothing left to fear. I’m already a criminal anyway, so I might as well go all out!”
At that moment, Bai Fanhao’s anger boiled over. He shouted in exasperation, “Wang Feiyan, damn you! Are you out of your mind?”
“Yeah, so what if I am? If my nerves aren’t normal, then so be it! Not destroying Mu Qingxi’s entire face already counts as mercy!” Wang Feiyan yelled wildly.
Her clarity was like a flashback to those days in the hospital, when she screamed hoarsely as if insane, like a madwoman or shrew.
“Go, keep Mu Qingxi here. Don’t let her leave this door,” Wang Feiyan ordered, staring at a door behind her.
The pounding on the door made Wang Feiyan smile. She approached slowly, laughing, “Now you’re desperate, huh? What took you so long? I’m going to show you all what happens when you cross me!”
Bai Fanhao and Mu Qingxi didn’t know who Wang Feiyan was addressing, but instinctively they felt there was someone inside the room, someone they definitely knew. But who could it be?
The two exchanged a glance. Suddenly, Bai Fanhao remembered: since that day when Xi Haifei called to warn him to be careful, he hadn’t seen him or even heard from him. Could it be that Wang Feiyan and Wu Li had already locked him away, leaving him completely out of reach?
Though dazed, Mu Qingxi knew the devastation of losing her beauty as a young woman was a crushing blow. But she had to find a way out; she needed to get to a hospital. She could feel an itch on her face, and the blood she touched had been black—clear signs her wounds were worsening.
Most likely, it was the effect of those drugs!
The burly man grew impatient. “Are you waiting to die? Get moving!”
With a roar, the crowd surged forward. Most had some fighting experience, making them quite troublesome.
Mu Qingxi was in a dire state—weak and starving, unable to keep up. Bai Fanhao fared little better, having to fend off attacks while carefully shielding Mu Qingxi.
Though it was a struggle, they managed to subdue and knock most of the attackers unconscious.
“Is that enough? We need to get out of here,” Bai Fanhao said, supporting the drowsy Mu Qingxi.
“Not yet. Look, there are still more,” the burly man said before Wang Feiyan spoke from upstairs.
At the stairwell emerged nine men—members of the Small Knife Society.
