Chapter 135: Tell Me
Think about it?
Bai Fanhao thought to himself, does this really need thinking over? He was only asking them to tell him what happened. Judging by their tone, they were also present at the scene. Why wouldn’t they tell him?
“Wu Li, you all say it’s my fault but don’t tell me what happened. How am I supposed to know if you’re not just making things up?” Bai Fanhao stared at Wu Li and said.
Wu Li pushed aside Wang Feiyan, who was standing beside him, snorted coldly, and said, “Hmph, making things up? You’re not even qualified to know. Bai Fanhao, do you really think everything you have was earned cleanly by your father? Hmph, you’re too naive.”
Bai Fanhao was even more confused. They accused him of harming Wu Li, and now his father was involved? What on earth was going on?
No, he had to find out. Then he asked, “You say I harmed you, so I have the right to know. Tell me. As for my father, he’s a genuinely upright businessman.”
“Bah!” Wu Li spat out in anger upon hearing this, then said, “Upright businessman? Nonsense!”
“Wu Li, watch your words.” Bai Fanhao was furious. Although his father never cared much for him, he was still his father. How could he let someone insult him?
The burly man standing nearby suddenly changed expression, his face darkening. He looked at Bai Fanhao with fierce eyes and said, “Hmph, since you want to know so badly, stay right here. Don’t leave. I’ll make sure you understand everything clearly.”
There was silence, only the sound of measured breathing. Bai Fanhao looked at the men closing in on him. Their knives were stained with blood—mostly his.
“Wait.”
The sound of heels striking the ground echoed—Bai Fanhao recognized Wang Feiyan’s steps. Everyone was waiting.
“Fanhao, if you hand over Mu Qingxi, I promise you’ll come out unharmed.” After all, they had known each other for years, and she had always looked out for him at school. There was some feeling there, but it was something he had long since dulled and forgotten.
In Wang Feiyan’s world, only material things could satisfy her. She relied on Bai Fanhao only because his family was wealthy. But after meeting Mu Qingxi’s cousin, Zuo Wei, she saw that Zuo Wei’s clothing, demeanor, and aura were extraordinary. That’s when Wang Feiyan’s heart turned wicked.
Finally, Wang Feiyan stepped forward but stayed at the periphery, not approaching Bai Fanhao.
“Wang Feiyan, you’re becoming more shameless by the day. Didn’t your parents teach you to respect yourself and love yourself?” Bai Fanhao scolded her sternly, causing her face to flush from blue to red to pale.
“Hehehe.”
A weak laugh came from Bai Fanhao’s embrace. Overjoyed, he quickly looked down at Mu Qingxi in his arms and asked with concern, “Xiaoxi, how are you? I’ll take you out of here.”
Mu Qingxi tugged at the corner of her mouth and nodded slightly, saying, “I’m okay, just physically weak, very dizzy.”
His face tingled. Bai Fanhao wiped his cheek and saw blood—his cheek had been cut just moments ago by their knives. He looked at Mu Qingxi and whispered, “Xiaoxi, hold on a little longer. Old Hou and the others will definitely come.”
“Wishful thinking. We’re going to start now. Let’s see who’s going to save you.” The burly man somehow overheard Bai Fanhao’s words.
