At first, Mu Qingxi thought Bai Fanhao was just joking. But the next moment, realizing he was serious, she asked in surprise and looked up ahead.

Sure enough, a man and a woman were walking toward them. The man was handsome and bright, while the woman was elegant and poised.

Mu Qingxi grimaced slightly, smiled at Mu Yuncheng, and said, "Dad, today was graduation. Fanhao happened to come pick me up, so we came out to hang out."

Hearing this, Bai Fanhao stepped forward and said gently and kindly, "Hello, Uncle. Hello, Auntie."

"Mm." Mu Yuncheng nodded with a smile and said to Bai Fanhao, "Bai Fanhao, long time no see."

Shen Yali said nothing. She simply looked at Bai Fanhao—neither glaring at him with anger nor treating him warmly, maintaining only a cold detachment.

"Uncle, Auntie, please rest assured. I will definitely take good care of Xiao Xi, and I'll make sure to send her home tonight."

As soon as this promise was made, Mu Yuncheng smiled. "Alright. You two go have fun, but come home for dinner tonight."

Mu Qingxi let out an "oh." She had wanted to spend a bit more time hanging out with Bai Fanhao and have dinner at home afterwards. "Sigh! Got it."

Shen Yali also chimed in, "Get back early. Go on and have fun."

What on earth was going on? One moment displeasure, and the next, acting as if nothing had happened, speaking so cordially.

Mu Qingxi didn't understand, and neither did Bai Fanhao. Just moments ago, he had witnessed Xiao Xi's mother's aloofness, and this sudden shift left him baffled.

"Why are you standing there stunned? Don't you want to go play? If you don't want to go, come home with us right now!" Mu Yuncheng suddenly blurted out.

Both Mu Qingxi and Bai Fanhao were stunned for a moment, exchanging glances.

Mu Qingxi hadn't expected her father to agree to their outing, nor had her mother raised any objections. She said excitedly, "Thank you, Dad and Mom! I'll be home on time tonight."

Bai Fanhao hadn't anticipated this either, looking at Mu Yuncheng's affectionate gaze and Shen Yali's relatively kind expression.

"Hey, say something!"

Seeing that Bai Fanhao remained speechless, Mu Qingxi nudged him with her elbow.

Coming back to his senses, Bai Fanhao said, "Uncle, Auntie, don't worry. I will definitely send Xiao Xi home on time."

Mu Yuncheng nodded.

Mu Qingxi grabbed Bai Fanhao's hand and was about to leave when she heard Mu Yuncheng call her name, "Xiao Xi."

She turned around and looked at Mu Yuncheng. "What is it, Dad?"

Shen Yali smiled and said, "Your father means that tonight, you shouldn't come back alone."

Mu Qingxi was puzzled. "If I don't come back alone, are you expecting me to bring him along with me?!"

Bai Fanhao looked at Mu Qingxi pointing at him, not displeased at all, but rather saying very happily, "Thank you, Uncle and Auntie. I will definitely be there tonight."

He would definitely come tonight—with him? Did her mom and dad mean they were inviting Bai Fanhao over for dinner?!
