Relieved.
The taxi drove along Riverside Road, passing through a crossroads, and Mu Qingxi and Qin Yu both wondered where they were headed. After a few turns, they entered East Ring Street.
East Ring Street—this place was filled with bars. Li Ruoying, was she planning to drag them into a drinking contest? If that were the case, they really would be in trouble. Now, they could only hope that the Searching Bar wasn’t far, so they could call for reinforcements.
With a screech, the car came to a stop. Mu Qingxi got out and laughed. So it was the Searching Bar after all.
Honestly, seeing the familiar sign of the Searching Bar made Mu Qingxi’s heart lighten instantly. Fortunately, it was here—otherwise, she truly wouldn’t know what to do.
Mu Qingxi tried to comfort the anxious Qin Yu. “Wei Yu, don’t worry. I’m here. Everything will be fine.”
“Hmph, you?” The mocking remark came from Li Ruoying.
Mu Qingxi and Qin Yu followed Li Ruoying and Xu Ting inside.
“Hou-ge, I’m here. Are they all inside?” Li Ruoying greeted Old Hou warmly.
Old Hou looked up at Li Ruoying. “You’re here. They’re inside.” He suddenly spotted Mu Qingxi behind her, about to call out, but Mu Qingxi stopped him.
Mu Qingxi winked at Old Hou and said, “So it’s Hou-ge! I’ve heard so much about you.”
“Ruoying’s here, huh? Come on, the boss and the others are waiting,” called a thin young man who emerged.
Li Ruoying exchanged a greeting with Old Hou, then led Mu Qingxi and Qin Yu inside.
“Second, why didn’t you find out who their target was today before agreeing?” Old Hou said angrily.
“Boss, you know how their gang always bullies others—no need to ask,” Second replied carelessly.
“Damn it, Second, you can get lost. Hurry up and set up the roulette. We can’t let them win. Those little punks shouldn’t have messed with the wrong people.”
“Boss, why?”
“If you want Xiao Mu to win your underwear, keep asking why!”
“Ah!” Second finally understood what this meant—today’s target was Xiao Mu.
It was over, truly over. Xiao Mu would surely seek revenge. He’d better warn Third and Fourth quickly, or they’d suffer too. With that, he vanished in a flash.
They entered a private room numbered 2222—a fittingly foolish number. Mu Qingxi looked around at the group inside. All of them had a roguish air, around twenty-five or twenty-six years old. The thick haze of smoke made her frown.
Mu Qingxi pulled Qin Yu close, shielding her.
“Well, you must be the Madwoman. I really didn’t expect it. Mu Qingxi, your reputation as the Madwoman is impressive, but your real name is just as famous, and you’ve hidden it so well. Truly remarkable!”
The speaker had coffee-colored hair, a sallow face, and held a cigarette in his hand—a strikingly handsome young man.
Mu Qingxi recognized him—it was him!
“Liu Jun, this really is a surprise. You still remember the Madwoman?”
“How could I forget? I pursued you once, remember? You were so proud then, and who would have thought you’d fall for Feng Han.”
“Heh, is that so? You do care about me. Enough small talk—why did you invite me here?”
Mu Qingxi went straight to the point.
“You’re still so confident! What could I want? Nothing much—I’m just indulging my girlfriend’s wish to play with you,” Liu Jun said, pulling Li Ruoying onto his lap.
With that gesture, Liu Jun made it clear who his girlfriend was.
Play? As far as she knew, the Searching Bar was only for gambling.
“Then you can let my friend leave. I’ll play with you,” Mu Qingxi replied lightly.
Liu Jun kissed Li Ruoying on the cheek before answering, “No way. If you lose badly, someone needs to cover for you. I don’t like IOUs.”
“Mu Mu, I won’t leave. I’ll stay with you,” Qin Yu blurted out, alarmed at Mu Qingxi’s suggestion.
Hearing Qin Yu’s words warmed Mu Qingxi’s heart.
Since Qin Yu insisted on staying, Mu Qingxi agreed, but made her promise not to take part in any games. No one objected, so it seemed they all accepted.
So it really was all about her, though Qin Yu had been dragged in as well.
They settled around the table, waiting for Liu Jun to announce what game they’d play.
