Chapter 57: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
The father and son, Jin Youcai, who had originally planned to leave, also halted their steps. Jin Youcai sneered disdainfully, “Where did this fool come from… At a time like this, still trying to play the hero~”
“Well, now the village will have another endless feast~”
“Could you please show some decency! You drove her to jump into the river. Not only do you refuse to save her, you mock others for trying. Have a little shame, will you?”
Unable to bear it any longer, the villagers began murmuring quietly.
Jin Youcai’s eyes widened at their words: “Nonsense!”
“Which one of you saw me force her?”
“She wanted to die herself—how is that my concern!”
“Don’t make false accusations! Slander is a crime, you know!”
Jin Youcai lashed out at the villagers, and suddenly no one dared speak further. A smug expression appeared on Jin Youcai’s face. “Am I mocking anyone? I’m just telling the truth. Jumping in to save someone at a time like this—is there any difference from suicide? If that isn’t foolish, what is? Ha ha ha.”
The crowd, though angry, could not voice their feelings. They could only gaze at the river, praying silently, but the swirling currents revealed no sign of anyone.
Just as everyone feared another person would perish, a sudden splash sounded. Someone finally emerged from the water.
“It’s Xiao Fan!”
“It’s Blind Xiao Fan!”
At last, the villagers saw who had jumped in—it was Zeng Xiaofan. One after another, they shouted in concern:
“Xiao Fan, are you alright?”
“Grab the bamboo pole!”
“Over here, over here!”
“Come up first, if you couldn’t save her, it’s not your fault…”
“Hurry back, don’t risk yourself…”
Everyone urged him, but in the next moment, Zeng Xiaofan lifted another person out of the water—it was Li Bixian, barely conscious after nearly drowning!
A wave of astonishment swept through the crowd.
“My goodness! Xiao Fan actually saved her!”
“It’s unbelievable!”
“He really did it!”
“He’s so impressive!”
“Impressive is an understatement—he’s absolutely remarkable!”
The villagers, shocked and delighted, applauded and cheered for Zeng Xiaofan. Some even cast meaningful glances at the village chief, hinting,
“See? Xiao Fan is what a real man looks like!”
“This is what a man should do—not like some people, who only know how to tuck their tails and hide when trouble comes, even after marrying a wife…”
“Pah~”
Jin Youcai naturally understood that he was the target of such veiled insults, and his face burned with humiliation.
Zeng Xiaofan, meanwhile, paid no mind, swimming with Li Bixian to the riverbank. He promptly dragged her ashore and began performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and CPR.
By now, Li Bixian was drenched, her thin blouse clinging tightly to her voluptuous figure. Even the milky white lace bra beneath was clearly visible, and the river water made her already deep cleavage even more pronounced.
The men nearby blushed and grew hot-faced—after all, Li Bixian was the renowned beauty widow from miles around.
But Zeng Xiaofan was far too focused to care. He reached behind Li Bixian’s back and, single-handed, unclasped the steel catch of her bra.
Her proud figure instantly relaxed, trembling gently.
Zeng Xiaofan slipped his fingers into Li Bixian’s mouth, carefully removing any objects that might block her airway, then sealed her lips with his own.
“Whoosh!”
With each forceful breath Zeng Xiaofan blew into her, Li Bixian’s full chest rose higher.
After several breaths, Zeng Xiaofan mounted her, rhythmically pressing down on her chest with both hands.
“Mmm… mmm…” Zeng Xiaofan grunted softly through his nose.
Li Bixian’s chest was pressed down and sprang back up, over and over, while river water continued to trickle from the corners of her mouth.
Turning Li Bixian’s head to one side to let the water drain, Zeng Xiaofan quickly covered her lips again, blowing air into her lungs.
He repeated the process, but Li Bixian’s face remained pale. Those watching clenched their fists in anxiety.
Everyone knew this was the most crucial moment—if CPR wasn’t administered in time, she would surely die.
While the villagers silently prayed for Li Bixian, Jin Youcai strode forward with a dark expression, coldly declaring,
“Zeng Xiaofan, you rascal!”
“Who gave you permission to touch my daughter-in-law’s chest and kiss her lips?”
“Have you no shame?”
“Let her go at once!”
“If anyone should save her, it isn’t you. My foolish son can’t do it, but as her father-in-law, I certainly can!”
“Move aside! Let me handle it!”
Jin Youcai’s gaze lingered on Li Bixian’s moving chest, a wicked glint in his eyes.
Zeng Xiaofan ignored Jin Youcai’s bluster, continuing his rescue efforts.
“Hey! Don’t ignore me, you brat!”
“I paid the bride price—she is my daughter-in-law!”
“I’m her future father-in-law! Move aside!”
“Let me help squeeze the water out!”
Jin Youcai reached out, grabbing at Zeng Xiaofan, but Zeng Xiaofan, without turning, slapped him hard.
Crack!
The slap rang out sharply, leaving Jin Youcai stunned.
“Say one more word and I’ll smash your skull!”
Zeng Xiaofan’s cold scoff filled the air with domineering energy.
Jin Youcai, though furious at being slapped, was intimidated by the powerful aura radiating from Zeng Xiaofan and dared not retort, retreating sheepishly.
Zeng Xiaofan returned to the task, giving Li Bixian mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
Suddenly, Li Bixian coughed lightly and slowly opened her eyes.
Overjoyed, Zeng Xiaofan asked with concern,
“Sister Xian, how do you feel?”
“Are you able to breathe?”
Li Bixian blinked, seeing Zeng Xiaofan’s handsome face, and was even more emotional than he was.
Looking down, she saw his hands still pressed to her chest, his lips seeming ready to kiss hers again. Her heart fluttered, and she became alluring.
“Xiao Fan… is it really you?”
“Did I die and go to heaven?”
“If heaven has you, what does it matter if I die?”
With those words, Li Bixian suddenly wrapped her arms around Zeng Xiaofan’s head, tilted her own, and kissed him, sliding her soft tongue into his mouth.
“Uh!” Zeng Xiaofan was caught off guard by Li Bixian’s reaction, his mind buzzing.
“Don’t… don’t do that…”
“Sister Xian… everyone’s watching…”
“I was giving you emergency resuscitation, what’s with the tongue…”
Li Bixian finally regained her senses at his words. Opening her eyes, she saw the villagers staring at her with strange expressions.
“Ah~” Her face flushed scarlet, hastily releasing Zeng Xiaofan.
“How… how did this happen…”
“Ah~ Xiao Fan, why did you undo my underwear… With so many people here, how could you…?”
Li Bixian stomped her feet in embarrassment, her proud figure quivering.
The villagers, seeing her awkwardness, laughed with relief.
“She’s still shy!”
“She’s really alive!”
“Xiao Fan, you’re amazing!”
“You’re incredible, Xiao Fan!”
“You are truly heroic, Xiao Fan—a champion of justice!”
“Hero!”
“Hero!”
“Hero!”
Praise echoed from every corner, leaving Zeng Xiaofan a little embarrassed himself…
